That's so frightening, Lola..ESP for older folks. We had our flu shots...do they offer any protection? I have no idea....
I understand. I'm the same way.
Honestly I didn't go until I was in extreme pain and could barely move.
I wont go into too much graphic detail since the ordeal was HORRIBLE. DH almost passed out during my first emergency surgery...
But I truly wish I had gone sooner. By the time I went in, the infection was starting to spread. I had 2 surgeries and was on more IV biotics and med pains than I could count. Seriously the absolute MOST pain I've ever been in. I was in the hospital for over a week. Then I had to go to the ENT every other day for another week.
All that took more time than just biting the bullet and waiting in the ER for a few hours...
Seriously, please go! There's no sense being in pain when you dont have to be...
Emerg is the worse. Just the waiting when you're not feeling well, but make sure you insist on seeing a specialist. It seems these days we have to fight for our health care. I'm glad your days off are coming abby, it's not helping any that you can't just rest. Coming in and out of the cold is a buggar, especially when your throat is burning.

I'm not sure if they had flu shots.
FIL called us to say dont come over, he was worried about the kids. Apparently is was bad. Especially for him to call us and take time off work.
This year is probably going to be pretty bad. Everyone remember to take good care of yourselves!!!
Morning
Abby, don't feel bad about going to emerg if you are not getting the correct treatment now. You can get worse infections from the irritation from coughing etc and if it gets worse over xmas when specialists have all taken time off.
3 more days...
Ugh, I need to get up and get motivated.
Bringing DD into her JK room to meet the teacher and see the school today. So exciting!
Then I need to go buy a plant and drop it off to her current EA. I got this idea from Pinterest (of course).

Her preschool teachers are getting bouquets of flowers with a little note card that says: "thanks for helping me bloom" and a thank you card.
Abby...do we have to physically descend on you and drag you there?!
Seriously....you're not "just feeling sick". If that infection spreads or, heaven forbid, gets worse,.....will you feel that you SHOUlD have gone there sooner? Please go...today. Then when you see your doc on Friday, he can continue your care...tests all done...ready to get better. Otherwise she'll have to send you for tests, or you'll wait to see an EMT...then wait for results....if you go in today, all that will be DONE!
Holly is so right...our health care is in our own hands and we have to fight to get the care we DESERVE.
Coyote, Lynn, Holly, Cabbie, Abby, Lola, FP...and everyone else, good morning :hello:
Cabbie, tree looks great!
Abby, take care of yourself love. Last thing you want, and anyone else wants, is for you to be really really down during the holidays, especially with friends and family around to spend time with.
DH asked me last night what I wanted for Christmas and the all I could think of was.... COUPONS! How sad is that?
I backed it up by saying I'd love him to make one of these (below) so that I could put it by the front door (to organize my in and out trades/trains). I *may* have a problem...
