have you run a hard disk de-fragmentation in a while? it compresses the information on your computer and reorganizes how the info is saved on the hard disk...doens't change the location of your files or anything...hopefully it'll make things run a little faster...

[go to My Computer, and right click on the C: Drive, go to properties, Tools Tab, Defragment Now...]

We've done it before it didn't change anything.

Furnaced fixed. $80. So I'm happy, just glad I didn't have to replace it. We called the friend my DH worked for so he came quickly...with my BIL lol, didn't know he was helping out. BIL works seasonal like DH used too, so looks for extra work over the winter months.

Going to pack up the girls and head out...they are finally over their colds and need some play time else where. Have a good day everyone.

no it doesn't change anything as far as the user is concerned using the computer.

think of it organizing a filing cabinet.
instead of having all of your papers, receipts, notes, picture etc all over the place in random places, they are neatly organized in in a way that they are easily accessed when someone comes looking for them.

it's the same with de-fragmentation. instead of the information on the hard disk being stored in multiple places, where it takes the computer time to process and open the documents or programs for you, the computer organizes itself to be more efficient in it's own filing system. Nothing changes on your end.

Popping back in, had an hour nap - after sleeping two one-hour sessions last evening/night. Put ribs on to boil for broth for soup tonight, then we'll have the ribs Wednesday.

Dan, dfrag is next on my list - it takes so long, I wanted to wait til mid-morn to do it, when I wouldn't be using the puter.
But there's no lag so far in the 10 mins I've been on now, so YAY for that!

As for my leg problem, it seems to be complicated, so I won't go into it all. Seems like a severe muscle strain.

Gosh, the broth smells good - makes me want some now!

I'm not very impressed that daytime tv is reruns today because of the holiday and/or taken over because of the US presidential inauguration - some channels are running four to five hours. Sheesh!

yes, it does take a while, i did forget to mention that...
I usually let the computer run over night, if i do it when i'm home, or i let it run during the day while i'm at work.

i hope you leg feels a little better now, after your nap, and hopefully it won't bug you too much for the rest of the day.

ita it could be alot colder. but still feels really cold to me as i literally feel it in my back and it always seizes up.. makes moving harder.

caught up on alot of chores, garbage, dishes, laundry. just a few more things to do. putting some meatball soup on for dinner.
went to the store to get some veggies. they didnt' have any out yet.. the delivery was late.
