I don't mind tent camping. We took the kids camping from school every year as part of an outdoor activity through my,. OMG...we had to hike 2 miles through the woods to the lake with all our gear. I had a great foamy thought and it was only a 5 day trip. More my style though is our 5th wheel trailer  My grandchildren are spoiled, they think camping entails always having satellite tv, a shower, a fridge, a washer and dryer, and of coarse a nice air bed hide-a-bed to sleep in. Boy will they be in for a shock when they go camping and have to rough it
Good Monday morning folks. Back to the workweek for some, and routine for the rest of us. Start your week with a smile, a hug and kiss for the kidlets, and a nice walk for the pets...you can't go wrong :)
I did a lot of "wilderness" camping when I was in Girl Guides... enough to last me a lifetime! There's a TV in my friends trailer but we're not getting cable set up. The kids are allowed to bring their electronics but ONLY for the car ride (it's a good 3 hour drive)... for the most part, we're going to be keeping them busy. 9 of us altogether, 5 adults and 4 kids... 2 couples, me, and the 4 rugrats between us :)
Good for you sheets. When we have the grandkids camping, we try and keep them really busy during the days too. Swimming, rafting, bike riding, games, fishing, the park and so on. They sleep like logs at night. The odd time you get a really rainy day, then we allow them to watch TV or play video games. Other than that, they get to watch a show at bedtime. With so many people going, you guy's should have such a great time. It's nice that you have booked your site already. Really gives you something to look forward too.
Gee, I've never been camping - tent nor trailer. Not that I was a pampered princess or anything, it just wasn't what our family did. We were lucky if we got to the lake once per summer just for the afternoon.
If we did travel away somewhere, we stayed in a cheapie motel - after all, there were five of us kids til I was 10.
It's not something I ever felt I missed out on, though.
My oldest sister and her husband camped/tented - later used a camper on back of a truck - all through the time they had their three kids, and they did it with babies. Wowsers!
Morning all. Happy Monday? Starting to get pretty nervous for my surgery tomorrow. Also starting to think about what I want for my last supper tonight, lol.
 Nat, you've never been camping??? I'm shocked. I thought everyone camped, but nowadays, it's getting so expensive. There are still a few places that a person can camp for free, but they are so few and far between these days. I remember when we first started camping with our children when they were small, you would pay $5 or $6 for a night, now that same place is over $35 a night!!! I absolutely love camping. I did it a lot when I was growing up, we did it with our children, now we are doing it with our grandchildren (just in style now). We started out with a tent, then 2 tents (I was in heaven when I got a tent just for eating and some cooking, no more flies and mosquitos), the we went to a tent trailer, then a travel, then a motorhome, now the 5th wheel, probably soon to be another motor home though (dh is getting older and the motorhome is much easier to back up) I don't think that my kids or grandkids have ever slept so well also after a day outside in the fresh air, being very active.
Its $200 for the week, serviced... not bad, from what I've heard. And our site is right beside the bathrooms/ showers, which is convenient! I am really looking forward to it :)
Lindsbeth, sending good thoughts your way!!!

lindsbeth, I can understand you being nervous, just try keep yourself busy today! :)
When I had my first surgery - it was outpatient arthroscopic knee surgery - I was totally a nervous wreck, but had the hope that things would be so much better after, so it got me through that.
I remember the surgeon asking me if I wanted to watch - I said NO, duh! But then they gave me the glorious drugs, I changed my mind and watched it, it was very cool - they turned a monitor toward me. He was snipping away torn cartilage on my knee.
Then I had carpal tunnel surgery on my wrist - that was awful because the pain meds didn't quite kick in, and I was in terrible pain as he went through it.
The more serious surgery I ever had was my c-section when I was 30, and that was an emergency so I didn't know it was coming; no time to think, just worried about baby! (all was fine, they got to him in time!)
I have to major teeth issues that drive me crazy and I have difficulty to eat..and I had finally the nerve to call my dentist...but he is not there today and the appoitment I have is for a teeth cleaning...and I need more and will have to wait...And I do panic crisis with the pain and the dentist...thats very not nice....
So after I will wait appointments for my 4 teeth including the young teeth.. Oh god...at least I call early and call it back he has a cancell so I have another appointment that suits better and I am happy to ha made the first step to go better..but oh god pray for me and wish me luck...I just do not want think of the bill I will have later...that is the most difficult...
