Chat-A-Thon Thread

I haven't popped in for such a long time! Just been super busy! I'm actually taking a break from party decorating. Ok maybe avoiding for a bit.

My house is almost completely Candyland! :)

I made life size lollipops (balloons, cello, old wrapping paper tube), candy to hang (balloons and cello), kisses (big bowls covered in aluminum foil), tootsie rolls (found a printable online then used empty tubes and wax paper). Then did a big ceiling display (like the one I posted for DS's party). Huge cut outs on the walls of Candyland characters and signs. Even found Candy window clings and candy garland.

DH helped me finalize all the games/activites and the prizes last night.

This afternoon I just have to pick up the cake and food then finish cleaning and doing last minute touches.

Tomorrow DD has to attend another party in the morning so I lose a lot of prep time (i'll be attending with her). But I think I'm as ready as I will be for 12 kids (4 & 5 year olds) to invade my house!

Then Sunday I get to rip everything down and put up the Christmas tree and all those decorations!

Next year I think I'm going to try and talk DD into going somewhere for her party (ie. movies, kids play park, the tea room - just somewhere else!!!). lol

So our winter storm is coming tonight...
Will definitely be staying in tomorrow...so much for finishing my Xmas shopping this weekend.
Good news is...I have lots of hot chocolate :biggrin:.

yes. i could have things worse in life.. i know.. im trying really hard to stay positive.. just seems every time the teeter turns my way someone jumps on the other end and I go flying..

i think im ready for christmas. only making a couple of VERY easy treats to fill up the snacking trays im making.
two more small gifts to buy, another one 'on its way', clearlycontacts delivered the other one. whew..
and 4 more on order. i can't wait.. it won't be all huge. . but well thought out.
we are also expecting another whack of snow tomorrow.. what can ya do.

Well it's all calm at the moment.. very cold outside.. but supposely the 1st winter storm is suppose to hit.. I don't know what they called the last snow things that came.. but they say this is our first winter storm.. Anyhow, hope YOU all have a GREAT weekend..

Oh dear, not happy hearing about that storm down there; DD and her hubby are flying into TO later today to attend his brother's 40th b'day party this evening, and flying home tomorrow...fingers crossed for safe flights!!

Really hoping the weather forecaster is right, and that the next two days will be milder; looking forward to having a bit of a break!

Our son is coming over for a visit and supper today - yay! Gosh, I miss him, and I know he misses us. He did pop in earlier this week after shopping, and called for cooking advice yesterday.

Good morning....Happy snow day to all :lol:.
Hoping where ever you are that you are safe and warm.
I'm about to brave the cold and snowy day, to get a few things done.
Having guess tonight, so I need a few things, plus would love to pick a couple more gifts for Christmas while I'm out, as it's only suppose to get worse as the day goes on.
