coyote, hope you get it all straightened out - it's a pain, but leave a drip of water running in the kitchen faucet.
Another frigid morning with -39 windchill.
Lynn, we're supposed to get to minus single digits by Sunday, but I'll only believe it when it comes...
There, they make me happy!
Have a great day, everyone!

I'm totally stalling starting my day. our countertops are finally finished and we're happy with the darkness of the stain so now all my appliances and stuff need to get wiped down and put away. I have a feeling my 3 year old is going to be a little too helpful today.
also need to bake 25 vday cupcakes, a cake for 30 vday cakepops & choc. chip cookies. *sigh* why do I procrastinate.

Coyote00 bursting water pipe is a big inconvenience.
We had ours broken in January.
Like Nat said just leave the pipe/tap to run a little, just to keep the water moving through.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes on my water pipe ordeal; they are now functional again. This happens once every winter and is the result of our contractor placing the intake pipe in a precarious place where t is the coldest.
I hope you all have a fantastic day

coyote, I know what it's like. When we lived in Lloydminster, we were in a very old townhouse, and the kitchen pipes were on an outside wall - I'm sure that place had very little insulation as well. We had to leave a drip, and the cupboards open under the kitchen sink.
Well, it started snowing here and the power went out for a half hour - coincidence, lol?
So I thought, well, what can I do? Then, pow, it hit me - my son got me a tablet for my birthday, so I can just keep on doing what I was doing.
Well, no - no wifi, duh. And no neighbourhood wifi of course, another duh (not even with the power on, we tested it before).
Aha, but I loaded solitaire and freecell on the tablet, so I played those for half an hour. The most game playing I've done in six months!
Gosh, it got so cold in the house within that half hour - well, mind you, I could have put pants on....
Now to change all the clocks, sheesh!
