I'm afraid I'm boring. I'll just use it for every day purchases instead of my VISA. Although, I went to Costco this afternoon and bought a new housecoat, a sweat shirt, and two 3 - piece lounging outfits, candy for Halloween, and same toiletries. Like I said, boring.
I think I may head back to the casino tomorrow, we'll see. lol

oh nice to see you two ladies in here once again. hicks that was some stroke of luck at the Casino AND getting let off with a warning by the Officer! Nice going. @Lynn49 , you do know I was laughing non stop at the whole paragraph about Jenny and " shifty " people near her home? I love animals with quirks, they sure make our lives fun!

Oh, that face, such a beauty! And that glossy fur! Curious as to her weight, because she looks so solid, but I know it's relative...
Our cats are just over eight pounds.
So, for comparison's sake when on one's lap...

Lol...Nat it's so difficult to get a good picture of her: her fur is so shiny it glares everything usually!
She weighs 11km...roughly 22lbs which, did I mention, is down since her last vet appointment.. She's still a little overweight but she's not one of those skinny long Doxies, she has more of a puppy figure. That last photo sort-of stretched out a bit for some reason...she's still got her short, stocky puppy frame which I just love to bits. So your cats are about 1/3 the lap-weight of Jennifur. Which is why I don't carry her up the stairs to sleep anymore.
We really have to start watching our figures and not snacking at night and maybe getting back to our walks, even if it's only up the street to the park and back. At least at the park she can spend time snuffling around and finding new scents, recent visitors, etc..
I'm pretty much "done" by the time we get back...this leg still isn't strong enough and unless I prepare myself with Tylenol (as I do when we go out shopping), the pain still returns, as well as my right hip...I'm pretty much wracked with arthritis...
But....keepin' the shiny side up!!
Did you catch a nap this afternoon? You didn't get more than a couple hours in the early morning....Hope you're feeling better these days, Hon...

I did have something longer than a nap, it was a sleep of a few hours so that felt good. The cold I have had for two weeks is not quite gone, gah, but at least the sinus pain is gone. I am sick of being snotty, lol!
Is your leg ever going to be 'normal'? I still cannot believe all you have had to go through, and I think of you every time I go down an odd step.
Well, I need to go clear room in the kitchen for Chinese food my awesome husband is getting on his way home from work!
Have a great evening everyone!

Chinese! A bunch of us couples are going to a Chinese buffet for dinner tomorrow...just super casual before most of them fly off to warmer climates for the winter. But this buffet place has just about everything you can imagine and I somehow manage to get to most of it..

Hon, I don't know if this leg will ever be the same as it was before my fall, although I keep hoping. Some days I almost can forget about it for a few hours and feel normal; then it's over and I'm off-balance again. I can fake walking like a normal person with a couple of T3s, but that's about it. Yep...17 months...who'd have thought it. Certainly not me, on that gorgeous spring day in May.
But I keep trying, wear my low heels to feel normal now and then and drugged up..
...I always remember the saying, "You can be in pain, but you don't have to BE a pain." So I complain very little (at least I think I do!), although I know my angel of a Hubby is always beside me, caring for me, holding my hand when we walk. We used to always do it because it was just a natural thing to do...now his hand holds me up! LOL!!!!! Thank you for your kind thoughts, Nat...

Hello folks!
Moved into our Tampa "digs." It was so hot this afternoon!
We had help from a lovely Danish couple as we were wrestling our baggage into the building.
I got lost trying to find our son's apartment to take his dog for a walk. But finally accomplished the task. She is such a cutie! She really took ME for the walk! "Down these stairs- now turn this way- say hello to the nice lady with a dog- no- no- we don't go THAT way!"
She got us back just fine!
No shopping today. I am feeling regret about a purse I DIDN'T buy.
Looks like we may have to put together a parcel to mail home.
Take care, folks!

Hi folks. @Lynn49 - what great pics of Jenny; she does look like, what did I do to deserve this sock. Sorry, that you're still dealing with so much pain, but I'm sure it's much better than it was. At least you can walk to the park and back. I sure hope it gets a lot better before the snow flies. @avoncallingu - glad you're there safe and sound. Hot - I'm so jealous. Enjoy every minute. How long are you going to be in Tampa?

We're here for 4 days. We actually lived here one winter so it's like coming home. DH's son lives here. He's actually cooking us up supper as we speak. He's a great cook!

That sounds so nice.
If I could, I'd be a snowbird. I'd be in Florida for the winter.
Have a wonderful time.

Well, Avon, aren't you just a spoiled little Brat! Hot, huh? You know, I know it hasn't been long since we lost our lovely summer, but I can't even begin to imagine "hot" right now. It's freezing out there!!!
I hope you have a wonderful time along the seawall and its bars and restaurants!
Hicks, she's awfully quiet this evening, and I'm wondering if that injection spaced her out a little. She didn't try to engage me in a fight on the sofa, or run around the coffee table this evening and I just had a bowl of ice-cream without her nose almost in the dish waiting for me to finish! I guess fighting what she has and that shot wiped her out, as well as the stress of being at the vet. She was just vibrating as we were waiting for the technician and vet; she calmed down when she saw them, which was so nice. As for me, thank you, it is getting better month by month..it's just been a long haul and I do get down sometimes. But there's worse out there, God knows, so we all get through whatever ails us, right?
Walks, aren't our fur-kids the best, though? Cats, dogs, doesn't matter; their unconditional adoration, yelps, spinning, trying to climb up us when we walk through the door is the best medicine in the world. That kind of joy has got to be good for our health!
Well...heading off to sleep...I applied more cream to Jenny's paw, slipped the socks back on, taping the first one to her fur...I hope she's better tomorrow. The vet said this could take 2-3 months to clear up, though!

hicks - congrats on your windfalls, and evasion!
avon - enjoy the heat, I know I wouldn't.
Well, confession time. I have resisted for TWO weeks, but I finally broke into the box of Cadbury Hallowe'en chocolates. Caramilk is yummy, so is Wunderbar - and a Crispy Crunch is waiting to be devoured.
Speaking of which - they ARE smaller - used to be three bites for me, now they are two (and, no, my mouth has not gotten larger!)
I don't know if anyone else here is a fan, but Adele will have a new album out in November, the first single comes out tomorrow. HOPING they are as amazing as the last album.Last edited by Natalka; Fri, Oct 23rd, 2015 at 12:42 AM.

Well, I've been up again - bummer. Oh, well.
Enjoy whatever the day brings you!
