You ladies are inspiring, I've been trying to eat cleaner and better (paleo primal style for the most part) but it's really hard with a two year old who has a carb addiction I'd love to join your group if I can, I could use some inspiration/motivation/kick in the butt lol. I lost about 25 pounds in Jan/Feb but have gained quite a bit back by being lazy about cooking and all of that stuff. Never mind my collection of "virgin" workouts... I even buy short ones, 20 minutes, and can't find the time/energy to do them! Ack. Any way!

Ok, speaking of teenagers, I have a story to share...
My daughter (15) was kind of hinting lately that she wanted her belly button pierced. I'm not a prude by any means but am against it for several reasons - it's hard to keep clean, she's prone to bleeding and infections, she's a dancer which means that she'd have to remove it before each dance comp, convention e.t.c. And I still have nightmares about her cartilage piercing, she was bleeding so heavily at the aesthetician's chair that I contemplated taking her to a hospital.. So, I've been fighting tooth and nail against it, even though "all of her friends are doing it and their moms are obviously ok with that"

Long story short, my DH just went down east to visit his family for a week and two days into his trip he post on FB a picture of his first tattoo!!! What He never talked about it before, never mentioned that he wanted one and that's how I found out! Well, let me tell you that as soon as my DD saw the picture she stepped her battle and now her argument is "well, if Dad could get a tattoo I don't see why I can't get a belly button piercing". So far I've been staying strong but my defenses are crumbling...

To the moms of teenagers, do any of you have any experience with belly button piercings? Am I over thinking it?

And to the moms of toddlers and babies - enjoys your babies because very soon they'll be all grown up before you know it!

I'm not a mom yet, but did get my belly button pierced as a teenager. I still have my belly button pierced too (16 years later). I figure that once I'm no longer comfortable in a two piece at the beach, then it'll be time to take it out.

I've never had an infection, or problem with my piercing. I was also a dancer (ballet, modern, and lyrical), and didn't have an issue taking it out, and putting it back in ASAP and cleaned. My parents were fully supportive and I was a couple years older than your daughter.

I did meet with a surgeon to discuss a reduction. But, we agreed I should be at my goal weight for 1 year.

At my heaviest I was 350lbs+

I am now sitting around 230lbs-240lbs(depending on the week and what treats I allowed myself).... I know some people hate to discuss weight.. but to me, its just a number... its doesn't(or maybe I don't allow it to) define who I am. I believe that no matter what number is on the scale is doesn't stop me from being a friend, sister, daughter, auntie, wife, lover, couponer, etc

I would love to be sitting happily at 185ish. I will get there... I learned a looooooong time ago... slow and steady wins everytime.

Hubby and I have started the "clean eating"... not so much a diet.. but a different way to eat. We are trying to stick to lots of veggies, lean meat... some fruit.... and little carbs. BUT Sunday is our "whatever the heck we want to eat... we eat it day" And of course, we don't stress about Birthdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Etc.

You go girl! I'm trying to lose weight purely for my health as I had gestational diabetes while I was pregnant... Have had probs with high blood pressure (my father passed away from it, caused an aneurysm to burst in his brain at the age of 49), and diabetes are genetic in my fam... Both type I and II... So I'm trying to eliminate that for myself if at all possible. At my heaviest, I was 220lbs. Before I got preggo, I went on a diet (ate more often but smaller meals and only healthy) and went down to 182. Then I got preggo (we think losing all that weight helped us conceive) as we were having probs and almost 3 yrs into our marriage, I was sooo depressed and scared I'd never have a baby on my own during the pregnancy, I gain obviously and weighed at time of birth 215lbs. After pushing out a 7.7lb baby, I went down to 198 with reoccurrence of health proba. Now, I'm 187lbs (no blood pressure, cholesterol, or pre-diabetes probs) so thats what makes me happy...and trying to lose more so I have more energy for my DD... She's so active and I need to keep up! But I refuse to lose my curves or my boobs! I know I will never be skinny, but I don't care! I'm proud to be "voluptuous"... Too bad I'm short too! Only 5'4 and have natural 38DD boobs!

Lol... that's sooo funny! I am so painfully trying to eat like I used to before the BF moved in, but lack the willpower, and the time! Before BF, I had all the time to myself to plan meals, workout, etc.. now it just doesn't happen. I have a whole closet (room!) full of nice things that I can't pull up over my fat a#$ anymore, and it's soooo depressing. I definitely need a kick in the pants to get me back on track, but so far, haven't found that kick!

Coyote, I must ask... how did the coffee turn out with ice cream? Was it like a mocha shake? Or did the ice cream curdle a little?? I must admit I've considered doing this before when I ran out of cream, and only had skim milk. I can only drink coffee with cream, otherwise, I find it too bitter.. ended up with the skim milk, had half a cup, poured it down the drain. Drove the 2 blocks to the closest Timmies. So for future emergencies, did it go well?

Required A LOT of icecream LOL which then makes the coffee luke warm

I just found my junior buddy's unicorn wish online!!!! Um ladies.... what EXACTLY is a boogie wipe. The name is gross. LOL!!

its a saline wipe that helps remove caked on boogies from your kid's face/nose. it is also soothing if you nose is sore from regular tissues.

I was so bummed Terra Nova got cancelled! All the shows I like get canned... makes me sad. I taped/pvr'd Arrow and am scared to watch it, I'm sure if I like it, it'll be cancelled too. I started watching Falling Skies, which I really enjoyed the first episode of but it has kids in it and that kind of bugs me lol... since having my own kid there are shows I can't watch any more (Private Practise being a big one).

I am having a rough day. It's stupid really. I took a new position at work to get a new challenge, and because my acting promotion would become permanent in a few months, but the new job is so boring!! And I have a subordinate now, who is older than me with more experience in this particular work, and who is acting the mother hen. It's all driving me nuts, and I just don't know what to do! I can't go back to my old job, this was a permanent switch, and I'm having trouble finding anything else to move to. It's all making me slightly depressed, and just frustrated. All in all the past two months or so have been terrible. I need like a mega vacation and of course have none to use until Xmas, when I will be off for 11 straight blissful days. But I'm not sure I'm going to make it... every day I count the minutes until I can go pick my son up at daycare. Alright, rant over, sorry, just had to say it because I'm going nuts!

I feel the exact same way. In the last little bit I've noticed my jeans are not fitting right. I'm vegetarian but have been eating way too much carbs because there easy to make, plus more junky food. Want to loose 15 pounds to get back to my normal weight of around 125. I'd love to put motivation on my wish list as well. Because once December rolls around I'll be done for with my Birthday and Xmas treats!!

never heard of revelution (going to look it up) but then i dont watch too much tv that isnt for kidlets. only in the last couple of weeks has my DD decided to go to bed early so i can watch regular tv (i almost said adult tv lol)

Oh no...I'm scared. Did anyone watch Arrow last night on CTV?

I had never heard of it before I watched it (but it happened to be the first episode), looks pretty good. It looks right up my alley of shows much to my hubby dismay lol All the show that I watch seem to get cancel (boo) and I need something to replace Terra Nova. I am still mad that they cancelled Jericho that was the best show ever. I love shows that make you think. I was a huge fan of Lost but was disappointed with the ending

I noticed a lot people mentioning about their weight.. I too have been having a difficult time with mine! I have basically been sick since I had my daughter in 2003. And every year I just keep getting worse! I am at the moment about 320lbs! I have cut back on everything I eat, and eating healthier.. But with me being so sick constantly I am in bed most of the time! So I know I don't move nearly enough. I have been told I look a bit swollen and I have yellowing around my eyes.. I am being checked by a Urologist for Interstitial Cystitis b/c I have constant Urinary Tract Infections but the cultures are negative.. I rarely pee. And I drink a lot.. so the liquid is going somewhere!?

I have a referral to an information session for Weight Loss surgery.. Has anyone ever looked into this? I am afraid of surgery but if something can help me I think I really need something to help me!
