Inspiring...I've been looking around here for volunteer work...considered some...still looking...

I especially like the 80 something woman who is on a fixed income.
She takes from the same food bank 2x per week.
But you can hear the pride in her voice, that she is also able to work there to help others too.

One year i helped out by taking applications for Christmas hampers. Out of the many applications I took, one man expressed his interest in wanting to donate his time in exchange for a hamper. Swear to God, it took everything in me not to reach across that table and hug him.

One year i helped out by taking applications for Christmas hampers. Out of the many applications I took, one man expressed his interest in wanting to donate his time in exchange for a hamper. Swear to God, it took everything in me not to reach across that table and hug him.

The hamper was probably more meaningful to him, when he was able to work for it. I think that it made him feel better. I would have hugged him too.
