Im not sure if i should complain yet but i took part in a train that waa sent off in february, it reached the first person on the train who says they mailed it out a month ago and no ones received it yet. The conductor said shed look into it "when she has time" im just really dissapointed that this train has "derailed" and not much is being done About it.....

I have had trains derailed at the first rider....contacted them and either recieved no response and they have left sc or recieved a response that they mailed the train yet it never shows up at the next rider
in this case if they stop responding I left a neutral rating as I can't prove they didn't send out the train but I could prove they stop communicating...but what are we suppose to do for the rest of the riders if we don't have enough coupons to send out a replacement train ?? yes the riders may be disapointed....but unlike the conductor the riders have not lost anything....just my 1 cents

I'm on the same train, and I was the first person. I received it and mailed it out, not sure where it went from my end. So, do I need to send a replacement train since it last left me? I have no problem with that, I just don't know what to do about it. SInce it's been a month, I'm guessing it's MIA. So, what do I do, I did mail it, but can't prove that I mailed it. Do I send a replacement train to the next in line? I have the coupons to do so, if needed.

I had something similar happen, but I was (am?) the conductor. It was hard deciding what to do, cause other riders kept saying to give it time. Plus some riders were no longer active. I eventually posted in the original thread to pm me for a seat on a replacement, waited 3 days, and sent it off.
Had I not had enough coupons for a replacement though, i'm not sure what I would have, or could have done.
It's also tough to decide on FB's for when that happens, because who knows where it went wrong, or if it's lost in CP wasteland, due to insufficient postage or something. I just left no FB at all.
Stange ending to this "train wreck" of a story, is right after I sent off the replacement, one of the missing trains turned up, 5 weeks after it had been derailed. Weird.

Yeah, my coupon train has "Derailed" after the 2nd rider sent it off... I'm not really sure what I should since I really don't have enough coupons to send out a second one. It's been two weeks since the second rider mailed the train to the third rider ... Advice?
ETA: It was being mailed from Nova Scotia to SaskatchewanLast edited by xox2010; Fri, Apr 1st, 2011 at 08:24 PM.

Since the riders are not really 'out' anything, IMO its not really a big deal if there is no replacement train. VWTs are another matter of course, this applies to regular trains. Its only really the conductor who is out, its a pain because you may have joined other trains had you not signed up for that one, but there is no loss
As far as insufficient postage, people should be taking trains to be weighed
2 weeks is nothing for CP, I wouldn't worry just yet about that one, there is definitely still hope for it yet

I just felt like the implication was on me since I was first on the train referred to by c_mccarther. I did sent it, but can't prove it of course. It's been a month, so I'm assuming it's MIA. So, what is the responsibility, if any, of the person who was last know to have mailed an envelope on a regular train. It hasn't come back to me, it was weighed at the post office so it had correct postage, so I don't know.
Would you make it a practice to get tracking numbers for all your trains, to have proof of it being sent?

I had a train going , which I figured was MIA after 4 weeks... Low and Behold, on the 6th week it showed up at the next rider... CP was just slow I guess... Unless the previous rider didn't put enough postage on it and it was returned... Either way, sometimes it just takes extra time... Couldn't believe it took 6 weeks to show up!
Today I got a train back mailed on March 31st... but it was only from half hour away. Yet I've Mailed a train 2hours away 4 weeks ago... still hasn't shown up, so who knows whats up. I'd be paitient, it might still come. And I have one MIA to SASK. So maybe SASK is just a slow CP province ??? haha my 2cents.Click here to view my Wishlist & Tradelist!

Thank you for clarifying that, I wasn't sure. In general, I still wonder what one can do when you send a trade/train out, and it goes missing. You've sent it, but it's gone MIA. What is supposed to happen? SHould happen? You can't prove it was sent. I've wondered about this, and now that it's happened to an envelope I sent, I am more curious.

I am the conductor of the train kelly and mc-arthur are refering too and bc I just recently moved, I haven't had time to look into it. I have decided to just cancel it out, since the person it was sent to is on the blacklist now and I am unable to replace it. I don' expect kelly to replace. We'll just have to treat it as a loss. I won't rate anyone and no one needs to rate. I will pm mc-arthur.
