I think SDM is in a Catch 22 situation with promos like this.

Without promos like this and the 20 x events etc , very few people shop at SDM due to their ridiculous prices.

So they keep promos like this to bring people in , and when they do they get abused

So they have a choice between not keeping any promos and getting very few customers or keeping promos like this and getting a lot of customers , but get abused at the same time

The crazy thing is, the 2500 points weren't on the tubs in the first place. SDM went and changed the promo to include them (because the tub was shown in the ad) but didn't foresee the need to set a limit, when the next week's flyer had the tubs at $2.99? The incompetence in SDM's marketing/promo department is legendary, but still, the mind boggles.

It was fun while it lasted. I had a feeling the promo was going to be canceled. The manager at my store said its the flooding of calls and emails to head office that gets the promo's cancelled. I still have some coming in on order tomorrow and will be buying them regardless. I would hope those who pre ordered 2o0 to donate would still be doing it as well! I'm due in three weeks and will still be using them. There still free with my points.

No, the points were never taken away. They simply imposed a limit of one per card that time as well.

I pre-ordered 100..and she was calling me this morning to tell me that she could order them for me but they wouldn't be in until Friday. So mine hadn't been ordered yet. Then she told me as of coming in this morning that there was a memo saying the Huggies BP promotion is now only good for 1x 2500 BP PER CARD. Did I still want the wipes. If they had already placed the order I would of bought them regardless of the points because I wouldn't want to make them sit on all those wipes for a long time. BUT since she hadn't placed the order yet I told her to not worry about ordering them.

oh my what an update. I wasn't on SC when the chocolate sale was happening so I missed that but did read of the aftermath and it was brutal. So sad this wipes sale fell to the same fate. One can only hope future offers will be a bit more clearly laid out, with limits at the beginning if needed so we can all just shop worry-free.
