You have to buy more than 1 card to qualify as the ad states so buy increments of sdm gc's such as 1 x 100 and 1x 50

last year I asked the cashier and she told me if I use the shoppers gift card I may not get the bonus points becauser I was going to do the same so she told me only if you pay cash or any credit card
and that what I'm planing to use dh credit card to do my 4x$150

I am sure you can't get bonus point when you do so, but could we at least pay the other gift cards with shopper's in general?

Others have bought other gc's with a gc's with success. I've never tried. Wait until bonus points are given and then try to buy a different gc's using sdm gc's. Other have posted they bought some other small thing while doing this. Probably depends on the store and/or cashier.

That is what I did last year (perfect timing, the last one I bought last year are running out).

Used my AM credit card so I double dipped.

If it is like last year, you will get the 8,000 bonus points regardless of gift card bought, but you should get 1,500 points on $150 purchase of SDM gift cards. And hopefully such purchases will count towards plus status (for what that's worth).

Also the offer is only for one week, although it was extended for a second week; but in the interim, assume it is only for one, and load up for Christmas gifts and next year's spending!!

Yes - when you use them they are a payment method just like cash, debit or credit card.

Did my 2x $150 (3 GCs in each transaction totalling $150), hopefully there are no points issues, I had no problems last year. Was able to use my VISA without any problems. Hopefully others have no issues as well.

Just thought I would post this for everyone. Shoppers just responded to the question as to how many transactions were allowed per card and they stated " no limit "

Shoppers Drug Mart HI Keith Wong, there is no limit.

I'm confused... According to the SDM facebook page, we cannot use the SDM MC to purchase GCs but we can use any other credit card.... I was able to use my SDM card last year without any problems. Should I be worried?

Had some trouble at my local shoppers, I did two transactions, 1 $50 SDM GC and 1 $100 MasterCard GC on the first - the cashier swiped my Optimum card. We were talking about bonus points as she did my second transaction, this one was 1 $50 MasterCard GC and 1 $100 MasterCard GC, she completed the order without swiping my card. When I told her she didn't swipe, she told me that it doesn't work on these GC's.
I had to ask for her manager, explain that the cashier didn't bother to swipe my card and the manager had to add the points on manually, as there was no way to start the transaction over.
Frustrating when cashiers have no idea what promos are running. They really should just swipe the Optimum card on all transactions, we're not gonna get points unless we should. Grr.
That was the start of my shopping day.. luckily it got better at other stores

This is what I don't understand, it's like they some of them want to be the Optimum police. I bought a drink last week for .99 and she swiped it even though I knew there wouldn't be any points awarded. They should just do it.

Okay so I purchased 3 sets of gift cards each set totaled $150 and used at least 2 different cards but I did not get the points... is this something they add in later or should it have come up on the receipt right away?? Also 3 of the Master Card cards were not ready to use right away, they pointed out it can take up to 24hrs to activate properly anyone else with this problem?
