Ugh, I wish that I could empty my deep freeze..... discovered the other day that it quit working. Everything was thawed, all had to hit the garbage.

I'm thinking I need to do this too! We only have the fridge freezer and a bar fridge sized freezer but both are currently totally full. I've just started my mat leave and think this is probably the perfect time to just eat from our stockpile for awhile (while I have no money coming in!) Glad to see this post and that others are doing the same!

Today, chicken chunkies and fries will be coming out.
But, I added beef to the freezer today - bought a large beef roast for $11 (2.99 lb) and cut it up into steaks and cubes for meals...have about 4 meals from this one roast yah

Last night I made a roasted cauliflower and baked tater soup since I only had 1 bag of each in the freezer from when I made them a few months back. I also took out a pack of bacon (we have like 20!!!) and sprinkled that on top.
off to see what else we have hiding ........

I cleaned out the freezer in the rv today (It's a double door fridge freezer so we have lots of room) I wiped out the fridge and freezer and put everything back in. It looks like I have enought stuff in there for the next 2 weeks yet so thats a good thing. I took out my last 2 chicken breasts for dinner tonight.

Yesterday, took out some chicken breasts and green beans. Today, I'll be making some sort of macaroni dish from scratch, so I took out a bag of diced tomatoes and jalapeno sausage.
Also took out a couple bags of chopped rhubarb since I'm using up the last of the cooking pears from my parent's pear tree and making juice - mixed with a bit of rhubarb. The freezers are very slowly emptying....

Isn't it a great sense of accomplishment, and a great savings when a person decides to make do with what we have in our homes. We save $$$, plus all our meat and other freeer items get used up. All to often people are in a hurry and just wrap and pop things into the freezer. Things don't get roatated, then one day you take out those 2 fabulous steaks you bought (about 6 months or more ago), cook them up, they smell and look delish, then you take a bite and
they taste like...well @$$. Nada, no flavour at all. Such a waste of money.
Keep up all the great work everyone at eating up all the stashed food and rotating stock. It really does help us save money! We all need a little sunshine every now and then
