Manager told cashier to 'Quit being Cheap!'

Ahhh...what a day with ups & downs in my couponing!

On of my stops was Toys R Us. I had 3 $5 Hasbro coupons, and was hoping to get a 4th one from my 'free popcorn'.

I asked the cashier before we started any of this if I could price match, and use a coupon. She called the 'cash manager'....who said 'no'. I asked what their policy was on it. He's like, 'OK, fine, just let her'!

Then I said, 'Do I still qualify to get the free Popcorn with buying the 2 games?'

He looked at me like I was crazy, but then he said, 'Let me just call the manager.'

So the Manager comes over, gets the details of the situation, and tells the cashiers the BEST line I have heard from a manager in all my time couponing....

'COME ON GUYS, QUIT BEING SO CHEAP! We get our money back from the maanufacturer! Of course we'll honor the coupon AND give her the free popcorn!'

Ahhh....it felt so awesome to have a manager on my side for once!!!

So, not a huge 'brag' but in the end I got:

2 Monopoly
1 Scrabble
and since they didn't have the popcorn in stock, a raincheck for free popcorn

All for $1.25

stores need to be more couponing friendly this days as more and more people are joining into the "couponing" club. so far, I find Loblaw is good for this, since they made their own coupons, too.

I bet that manager has felt the frustration trying to use a coupon at WM or NF where it was valid, but denied because the price was "too good" or free.

The thought would be going through my head that she might be an SCer.

Fantastic manager. Awesome score. Stores that treat customers like that make me want to go back even when I'm not getting a deal.
