Hmmm... I have some friends who are gay... I asked them this question and one said he knew he was "different" from a very young age, the other said he didn't realize until high school. Are they born that way? Hard to say!

Yes. I think I know more LGBT people than straight, and I knew well before they were 'out of the closet' or like some people say 'decided they wanted to be gay'. It's quite obvious, IMHO.
