Most folks are probably gone away now, it will get quite lonely around here this weekend. Thus a little fun question to keep minds focused.
What are you favourite virtues in other people?

I must be sexist because I think I admire self restraint in men the most, and courage in women the most. My gramma, that was one courageous woman. Back when I was a kid, she waved her finger and gave some thugs advice on manners at Circle K.

I am going to have to say courage and patience.
i have courage, and it boggles my mind how so many others do not, so I appreciate it in others.
I feel horrible when my actions may interfere with someone else who is ahead of me in a situation ( even though I want something badly or it feels right), so I tend to self analyse and then step back and wait, so I respect someone who has more restraint than I do.
i think too much, and can be impulsive with my words.Love like crazy everyday and smile.

In other people...hmmm
I think honesty would be a big one, respect, patience and kindness.
I try to hold myself to these too.

I think altruism. If someone has that, the other virtues usually follow. It saddens me that so many people become so consumed with their own situations that they lose sight of how their actions affect those closest to them.

I think my answer overlaps with Natalka.
Also, I cheated and borrowed* my answers.
For women, virtues include:
- Being trustworthy
- Being financially savvy (I think being on SC is helping me with this one)
- Showing charity (for the poor)
- Demonstrating wisdom (in what she says): not necessarily book wisdom, but street savvy too
- Being respected (by her children):some children today have no respect for mothers/parents (and they get away with it too)
- Being praised (by her husband)
*borrowed from Proverbs 31: 10-31 (King James version): Who can find a virtuous woman? Her value is far about rubies ...Last edited by Shwa Girl; Sat, Dec 22nd, 2012 at 01:38 PM.

Respect: I don't care whether someone's "station" in society, they must respect that others have the right to be treated fairly and equally without judgement (we all walk in our own shoes, and can't possibly understand another's choices and circumstances)...which is, I suppose, Tolerance.
Self-Respect: knowing that he or she has the right to be treated fairly in life, and love, and not allowing anyone else to berate them or treat them like second-class citizens/lovers, etc...
Curiosity to know people and their world, and the courage to pursue their interests even in the face of nay-sayers.
Honour...conducting oneself in an honourable manner, respecting others, being honest in one's dealings with others and never having to look back at life with regrets at one's actions.

There are so many, but I find honesty is what attracts me to others. We are all so different, and have so many things going on both behind the scenes and playing out for everyone to see. It takes strength, respect, integrity and empathy in order to be honest, both with yourself and with others.
We all need a little sunshine every now and then
