Unfortunately I now know what you are all referring to when you say you get "treated like a criminal" using coupons. I had a not so great experience at Brentwood yesterday. Although in the end I was able to use all my coupons I got death stares and major eye-rolling from the cashier. This may have been partially my fault as I went through a regular till instead of to customer service (there were many people lined up at CS and no one in line at any of the tills). I only have a total of 5 coupons so I figured it would be OK.

So I guess my question is...should I ALWAYS go to customer service when I want to stack? Or is it reasonable to go through a normal till if I am not price matching and just have a few coupons?

I'm sorry to hear you had such a terrible experience!
The 3 times I've gone to Brentwood LD, I've always gone to the CS desk. I guess it's just habit now!

Couponing as we know it may be coming to an end . I was at Walmart today and after being told I could only use one same coupon per transaction I asked to see a manager. He explained that the Canadian government is cracking down on couponing and they are implementing a new policy which comes into effect I believe he said may or June. He is not sure what it all entails but he said that they are now auditing stores to make sure they are following the regulations. So be prepared for alot more sticker rules concerning coupon use in the near future. On one hand it would be nice to have a blueprint on what is acceptable and what is not but it sounds like they are trying to make coupon use more difficult.

I'm cleaning out my coupons and have a lot that I won't be using. If anyone wants them they're yours- just send me a self addressed stamped envelope or pick them up in Beddington (NW).

    Lot #1- Swifter
    Lot #2- Cascade Dishwasher
    Lot #3- Cat
    Lot #4- Dog

If you have any food, diaper or personal ones you won't use I'd be happy to take them but it's not necessary.

    Let me know!

$12 is for our dayhome gal Which I thought was totally cheap!

In our situation we have nobody else to sit, so it's totally worth it to get a great night in with the Rocket Man himself

Which walmart was this? Things are getting ridiculous with wlamart and coupons they cant decide what they want to do. one day they are allowing some stores to stack, then they stop, then they are allowing overages and now they are saying the government wants to restrict coupons. Why would the government care? I would think they would be happy people are using coupons so we dont have a debt crisis like the US. UGH WALMART.

Oh yeah and I also heard the new coupon wording was because walmart went complaining to the manufacture companies.

Yikes that is such a high price for a babysitter. If anyone is looking for an adult to babysit, my 23 year old daughter has a 3 1/2 year old little girl and would love to find a playmate or two for her, while looking after another little one. She of course is very experienced with looking after babies as well as older children, as she used to look after her neighbours 2 sons, one of which was at the time just 18 months old, and his brother was 4 years old. we live in the Central North area, very close to Beddington LD, Huntington Superstore and Shoppers Drug Mart. Deerfoot Walmart is a 10 min drive away......so super central to hit all the major stores for shopping while she can look after your children.

It was the Walmart down on McLeod trail. The manager was trying to be very helpful about it all and allowed me to use the coupons but said it is really confusing now because of all the changes going on. I don't know why the government would care after all we still pay taxes on everything, unless the manufacturers somehow get a tax break on providing coupons??

I emailed Co-op since I had never shopped there but just moved close to one. I asked about membership and coupon policies. I thought I would share the response because I think it was pretty good. And they offer free child care while your shopping!

Thank you for contacting Calgary Co-op.

I am pleased to tell you that membership to our stores only costs $1 and gives you a lifetime of benefits including free supervised child care while you shop in the Kiddie Korral, free grocery carry out service, an annual patronage return and grocery saving coupons each time you fill up at one of our 27 gas bars.

With respect to our coupon policy, the basic policies are as follows:

    1. We accept Canadian coupons that are within the stated expiry date and include the dealer information. Coupons will only be accepted for the item specified.

    2. There is a limit of one coupon per item.

    3. We do accept internet printable coupons as long as they fall within the expiry date, contain a Canadian clearing house address and are for a product that Calgary Co-op sells.

    4. We accept competitor's coupons as long as they fall within the expiry date, are an actual coupon that can be brought to our location and are for a product that Calgary Co-op currently carries.

Interesting! When I e-mailed two weeks ago I was told they don't accept internet coupons.

Good news for NW'ers, I think there is going to be a Dollarama opening in the RO shopping center soon. I saw the sign up today.

Kinda feel bad abt the original dollar store that is in there already, I think they are closing becoz of that. Same like all the specialty stores, or those little family business that got taken over by the powerful Chain. Unless it was the same owner that decides to take on the franchise.
