To drag my sorry self outside to smell the air and feel the sunshine despite whatever may be seriously wrong in my life.

That's wonderful!
I think the biggest thing cats have taught me is to sloooow down, enjoy cuddling, slowly petting fur, and basking in the awesome purring!

How to relax with all 4 limbs in the air while exposing oneself to the world in the complete abandonment of an afternoon nap?. . . lol
5 o'clock in the morning CAN be a lovely time for a snuggle.
My male cat seems to think the bed is the best place to have affection and snuggles ( Well, I DID say he was MALE, didn't I??!!) He gets excited when I'm heading for bed and likes to either crawl up on my chest for pre-sleepies snuggle or he'll curl up at my feet. Often, he wakes me up for 5AM snuggles after which he likes to chew on my fingers (not my favourite part) I usually have to hide my hands under the blankets so he won't keep harassing me.

I used to have cats - one once taught me that even though someone locks you inadvertantly in a linen closet for the whole weekend, you can still be happy to see them when they let you out. (And you can "hold it" for 2 days!)

It is much fun to hide from your human and then reappear out of nowhere

To not worry, even if I am not feeling good or I am in pain. To just carry on and know it will be better soon.
Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.

How therapeutic cats are in times of stress. No matter how bad it gets, I can lie down on my bed for a cuddle and pet session with Apollo and things will look better.

Reminds me of the cat that "takes care" of our backyard when we are away. This cat keeps other cats away, takes care of field mice, keeps squirrels away and I think, has taken care of the 2 jack rabbits (haven't seen them in a few days).
This cat is the master and is so bold. He/she sleeps at the back entrance door, starting early in the morning. And if the grass is too long, he walks disapprovingly through the yard.
I like this cat.
