13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson.
The teen section is close to the kids section at the library so I usually check out that section while the kids are playing. The adult section is too far to still be able to see the kids so I've been reading a lot of YA books (only section I get to leisurely look through). lol. But it has opened me up to a lot of great books!Last edited by bargain_hunter_lola; Mon, Feb 9th, 2015 at 05:33 PM.

I stayed up til 10:30 to finish reading The Great Zoo of China by Matthew Reilly. What a story! It'll never win any awards but it was a fun ride. The only complaint that I'd have about the book is his writing style. He has a tendency to emphasize lines in the story that don't necessarily need to be emphasized. Any regular reader can figure out that it's supposed to be exciting, we don't have to be told which parts are meant to be. Also, his over-use of exclamation marks! Goes hand in hand with the emphasizing, I guess. Has anyone read any previous books of his? Are they all written like this? Apart from that, I'd highly recommend this book for the excitement factor. It's like a Jason Statham movie - the action doesn't stop. I won't give anything away but the zoo is not like anything you'd ever imagine. Don't cheat and go Googling now.. you have to read the book.

Just started The Taking by Kimberly Derting. Great book so far!
The last thing Kyra Agnew remembers is a flash of bright light. She awakes to discover that five whole years have passed. Everyone in her life has moved on—her parents are divorced, her boyfriend is in college and dating her best friend—but Kyra's still the sixteen-year-old she was when she vanished. She finds herself drawn to Tyler, her boyfriend's kid brother, despite her best efforts to ignore this growing attraction. In order to find out the truth, the two of them decide to retrace her steps from that fateful night. They discover that there are others who have been "taken," just like Kyra. But Kyra is the first person to have been returned past the forty-eight-hour taken mark. With a determined secret government agency after her, Kyra desperately tries to find an explanation and reclaim the life she once had . . . but what if the life she wants back is not her own?Join Swagbucks for free amazon gift cards! $500 earned so far!!

Working my way through this medium type series by Victoria Laurie. I am getting a bit tired of the characters though.

I don't post here often, though I read tons.
Wanted to mention this book, because it's very good -
"Is Gwyneth Paltrow Wrong About Everything: When Celebrity Culture and Science Clash" by Timothy Caulfield, a university professor from Edmonton
It's funny and engaging - and NOT only about Gwyneth, just how she and other celebs try get people on the bandwagon for the latest/greatest trends - and as a scientist, the author debunks them.

I've read the Jack Daniels series by JA Konrath. I really liked the character Jack, but didn't like the entire story around her and her fellow officers. How often does a lieutenant have between 2-4 serial killers after her at the one time? If someone bought the rights to it, I'd hope they change it enough to make it believable.
I've read since last time:
Dark Debt - Chloe Neill
Lucky Break - Chloe Neill
The Immortal Who Loved Me - Lynsay Sands
A Root Awakening - Kate Collins
No Ghouls Allowed - Victoria Laurie
The Ghoul Next Door - V. Laurie
What a Ghoul Wants - V. Laurie
Obsession in Death - JD Robb
