As of 9:45 this morning my husband and I are officially mortgage, credit card, line of credit, car loan and whatever else kind of loan or credit there is debt free. We make a conscious effort to not buy any "stuff", whatever we did need we looked on kijiji first and found some amazing deals. We discussed our desire to start 2013 debt free with our teenagers and decided to have a very, very lean Christmas. It felt so amazing to pay off that last little bit this morning when my pay was deposited. Now to start funneling all the money i was putting on debt reduction into saving for a much need new "used" vehicle. Thanks for letting me share!!

It was the "rewarding ourselves" that got us into debt in the first place! LOL

Congratulations, Wifey! Being debt free will give you a sense of accomplishment and sense of freedom like nothing else can and won't it feel great to be able to save up the money for your new-to-you vehicle.

Congrats!! That's is a huge accomplishment. I remember when my parents paid off the mortgage and my mum put a note on the door that said "Welcome to OUR home". That moment has stuck in my mind for 20 years.
