This is an incredibly sad story and it makes me angry that this story is being ignored in the media. Why? Because a gang member shot her? Because it is Chicago? Poor child! Poor parents, I feel really awful about this, it just breaks my heart.

This has bothered me all day. I cannot believe that this culture of violence is just accepted as normal in some places. What kind of people shoot and kill children?

I saw that story in my news email too this a.m. vesper, it saddened me then as well, but I felt so helpless, so hopeless, so angry that so many similar and worse tragedies keep occurring.
