In 2003 Popular Science magazine complied a list of of the "Worst Jobs in Science" Included on that list were Dr. Levitt's employees.

Their job is to feed test subjects pinto beans, collect the gas that results using plastic tubing, and sniff them-as many as 100 a day-to determine the strength of the farts.

They are called "flatus odor judges".

And they need this scientific information because?
DH said he will never complain about his job again.

I didn't think I was being brave (but thank you) as I just posted this article I found to make people realize that there are worse jobs out there than the ones they have.

I was just thinking about all the fart jokes/cartoons which may be on their way....

But it's true, there's always another job I'm so very glad someone else chooses to do - either it's muckier, stinkier, scarier, etc. than anything I could imagine myself doing.

My next-oldest sister always said she could never imagine teaching primary kids as I did, she said she'd be way too scared. Now, this came from her, being an ICU nurse, whose workplace scared the dickens out of me when I visited her there! I'm in awe of how she saves people and helps to sustain life!

    That does sound awful!
I've always thought the worst job for me would have been to be a school bus driver. I remember how bad we were when we were kids on the bus. And a bus driver not only has to keep the kids under control, but they have to watch the road and manouver a giant vehicle. If there are any bus drivers on this forum, I am in awe of you!

Do people still work in lighthouses? I think those jobs where the person is isolated for long periods at a time have it bad. But with wireless internet it probably isn't as bad anymore, and they probably have an app on iPhone for tracking ships now anyway.

I think working in a space station would be worse. I would go insane!

True! There would be zero chance of meeting anyone, and space aliens can be a pain!

That's a horrible job. Makes me think back to that TLC show. My job is boring and I get paid min wage, but I get to coupon and do my school work while getting paid lol...AND I don't have to smell anyone's fart (or B.O. or anything else) because we're usually one secretary in the office at a time. Can't complain too much.

Complete quick surveys and cash out at every $20. Receive a cheque, deposit it into your bank. That easy! https://legerweb.com/2Q7V3

No they don't but I think it would be so cool to work in a lighthouse but I don't believed they are manned by humans anymore. Love the ocean...transplanted east coaster.
