So kind of a funny rant....
At the start of the month, Haagen Dazs was on sale at Sobey's.
It is our favorite Ice Cream so I picked up 2 x Coffee for me and 2 x Cookie Dough Dynamo for DH (who ate them both that night!) All month he () then ran down to the convienece store to buy more, when I stopped picking him up a container with groceries! Fast forward to the end of the month and I know he has eaten at least 10! (I'm thinking more like 12 - 14 but I stopped counting and just starting shaking my head)
10 pints x $4.99 or more (up to $7.99 depending on the place) = ARE YOU KIDDING ME!
Here's the kicker for me.... 125mL of ice cream = 21g of fat... so 4 portions per container times 10 containers = 840g of fat...
I told him we are doing "Frugal February" to save up some money for some repairs we need to do on our house this summer, therefore, no conveinece store trips and no non-essentials (which includes ice cream), he's agreed, so here's hoping that his will power improves this month or I'm going to have to stage an intervention! This thread is currently associated with: N/ALast edited by beckie.c; Fri, Feb 1st, 2013 at 09:52 AM.

Oh, men! Didn't even think about that part - of course he didn't! My husband (lean and muscled from hard work) can demolish 10 pieces of KFC in a meal, and doesn't even blink. I even LOOK at KFC and I gain!

Natalka, if we could bottle that ability and sell it we could rule the world LOL... It's a good thing DH is not in charge of grocery shopping lol, our bank account and our wastlines would suffer ha ha

Mildly jealous. I agree with your comment Beckie.C if my DH goes grocery shopping with me we always come home with extra, but I don't mind. If he wants it. It's ok.
Maybe have an icecream day in the middle of the month somewhere even if it's Frugal February. Just so he can hang in there. It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness.

LOL, that's awesome! I don't know what's worse, that or a spouse that won't eat sweets. Like he's better than me or something with all that self control and healthy eating.

Yes shopping with DH can be funny, one of the last times we went out, he spotted a clearance rack of reece pb cups, when I looked back at him pushing the cart, he was grinning from ear to ear dumping the box into our cart... but I can't really complain, he likes sweets like I like makeup LOL
P.S Thats a good idea about middle of the month, it will give him something to look forward toLast edited by beckie.c; Fri, Feb 1st, 2013 at 11:30 AM.

cathy007 you beat me to it. I just gave away 2 sets of those Hagan Das coupons to my " skin and bones DS ", he loves it, but the price prevents him from splurging, so it helped.
OP, all your posts made me chuckle..his body's defiance on gaining after eating all that fat, just not fair. Good luck, hope he can wean off the stuff.

Even if he didn't gain anything, I cringe thinking of the kidney stone(s) that may be starting to develop.
