I saw in a thread the other day that a SC'er was freezing some cream cheese pkg bought on sale. I never thought of doing that before. I tried but I haven't thawed them yet.
I will freeze chocolate milk when on sale, I can't stand buying it when it's double the price when regular. I freeze whole bananas, I have frozen black olives once the can has been opened so they won't go to waste. They turned out great on a pizza.
Beside the usual bread, made in advance meals, what have you been freezing that is unusual or that you buy on sale to stock up?
Thanks! This thread is currently associated with: N/A

Weird but if you get chewing gum on your clothes you can freeze the item and then the gum is easy to chip away at with a butter knifeYou know you love me xoxo Gossip Girl

This is good, thanks guys. Yep got stucked once trying to shred once frozen cheese. Didn't had the time to do it first...
Cheese strings, that's a good idea. I'll stock up when DN comes. Avocado, I saw that once but this is a great reminder.
For the jam, it doesn't crystalize? I had some jars left on the top fridge shelf and they all did so I threw them out : (
I have tried margerine and is silly because I do freeze butter. Gotta try this one.

Lots of butter, chocolate (awesome easter sales!), cheese. I was wondering if Egg Creations could be frozen! I'm waiting for those to go on sale!

Margarine
I freeze cream cheese all the time - once you thaw it and then cream it, it's like fresh.
Corn on the cob
Mozza when on sale - because then I just crumble it for pizza or lasagne.
I don't freeze cheddar, because we like that sliced or shredded.
Also, no matter how good a deal it is, I just don't like frozen bread or buns. We did it for a long time, because we really, really had to - but now I just can't stand it anymore. Can always get cheap bread somewhere.

If blocked cheese is on sale then I try to stock up but it seems to disappear very quickly at our house so I shred it and then freeze it! Lasts so much longer and not crumbly when you use it.

I shred cheese if I'm going to freeze it as well. In my children's eyes, is then a cooking ingredient, not a snack, and it lasts longer.
