Not the RBC. I called last week to tell them I hadn't received my receipt, since I was under the impression they had a legal obligation to mail them out asap, but apparently not. Then I asked if I could get it online, and she said no. Having said that, if I really couldn't wait, she did say I could go to my local branch and have them print me one.

I can understand last minute contributions, but I made mine in January, so really don't understand why it would take so long. It didn't stop me from doing my taxes over the weekend to figure out if I owed or not, just that I can't submit just yet.

Do you know how much you contributed? You can always add it in without the receipt (unless you're mailing your return)

Yes, but I also make monthly contributions via automatic withdrawals. I'm not sure if the March 1st one will be on the receipt or not. It's no big thing. I just wanted to know if I owed money or not, and I don't, so no big hurry.

We filed on the 17th and on the CRA My account website is a message saying that we will receive our direct deposit on March 25th. Pretty quick turn around.

For people with one or a few T4s and only a few deductions it seriously only takes 20 minutes to figure it out and bang it off. I think everyone should know how to file basic returns. People are out there paying $50-$60 or more for something it takes 20 minutes to learn to do themselves.
    Thanks for that recommendation!
I have a very simple return...one T4 and i usually do it myself. But maybe i'll give this a shot.

We had ours done last week. Paid $209 for two tax returns through an accounting firm. Cheaper than H&R Block.
