ExpiredAm I alone in my annoyance with facebook freebies????
I am not a member of the facebook community and nor do I have any desire to be...I feel my privacy and relationship don't need to be compromised by partaking in this website.... THEREFORE I am missing out on more and more Freebies!!!
It's starting to become so frustrating and I'm just wondering if I'm alone in this....
Is there ANYWAY to reap the benefits of offers with out having to join facebook????

You could always have a facebook account that has no information on it and isn't linked to any of your friends that you just use for freebies and deals, like how a lot of people (including myself) have secondary email addresses for this stuff.

Your not the only one I don't have one either. I just don't think I would spend the time on one however, it seems that more and more company's are using social media as a way to reach out to their customer base so like cheapass above advises I amy set up an account just for the facebook freebies. There seems to be some great ones on there.

I have no issue with it because to me its like offers that are only texted to cell phones. Don't have a cell phone so can't take advantage. Saves me money in the long run, lol.

I agree with cheapass, if you dan't want you info up on the website you can create a fake account. Use a different name and don't enter any other info. The only time you will be required to give info is when you are requesting a specific freebie from a company.

I completely agree with the OP, but I FINALLY had to give in & bite the bullet if I wanted to get in on some really good freebies. And I have received good FaceBook freebies.
Like the others mentioned, I made up an account with variations of my first & last name, no personal info, a rhodedendrun bush as my picture & linked it to a junk email account.
When you go check out a freebie you usually click to "allow access" to let the company see your info, & that takes you to another screen where you fill in the form form for your mailing address. When I'm taken to the 2nd screen, I do fill in my actual mailing info/name, with my junk email account.
Hey - I remember having to learn how to use a mouse at work, as it was all Star Trek like in the office in those days. And I still miss my Walk-Man. Am I dating myself? I've been dragged kicking & screaming into this electronic age all the way!
Sometimes you just have to give in. : ) But I refuse to "FaceBook" on a social level. I won't give in there.

I have a fake account just for the 'freebies'. No friends added in there so not a problem. With Facebook been so much in news about security issues, I wouldnt go for it if I had to use my personal account. They seem to have come a long way in fixing issues... but still... I wouldnt trust it.
Good Luck!

The second FB account really is the way to go. There are a couple of deals I've seen that require sharing with friends on FB, which I can't do since I have none. If this were to become the norm, I'm sure we could easily add each other's fake accounts to get around it!

It's a good idea to have a second fb account (which I don't yet), if only to not seem like a weirdo who "likes" Triscuits and shampoo to your friends.

I also have a second FB account just for freebies. I know lots of people who have second accounts...not difficult, as previous posters have also said.
