I have recently joined this forum and have seen people talking about various points events at SDM. I have not personally shopped there much because I find them a bit expensive. Although I do have Optimum points card but don't know how to calculate the points and don't have many points as I rarely use it. So here are my questions. Tomorrow is 20x points event if you spend $50.00. How many approximate points would we get? How much are they worth in dollar amount? Do you have to spend 50.00 before coupons or after coupons have been applied? I thought I read somewhere there 50.00 should be pre-tax after redemptions and discounts, so what does that mean, that your total after all the coupons should be 50.00? Can you collect 20X points on Milk and bread as well? Would appreciate if somebody can answer me. Thanks

Welcome to the forum
there is a FAQ sticky at the top of the SDM forum that explains everything about the program and should answer your questions.

I'm not sure where you're located, but in Ontario I've always received points on bread and milk.
Here's my attempt (this would be at a regular redemption level)
10 000/8000 x 10
= 12.5
So if 8000 points is equal to $10, then 10000 points is equal to $12.50.
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong though.

It depends on how you redeem your points....
If you redeem 8,000 points for $10, they are 800 points per $1.
If you redeem 95,000 points for $170 on a regular day they are 558/$1
If you wait until bonus redemption day, they are 475/$1.
I always do 500/$1 in my brain for the ease of things, so 10,000 points = $20 keeping in mind I do not redeem except on bonus redemption days...Wanna make some spare cash? Check out Clixsense: http://www.clixsense.com/?5382267

The total has to be $50 before coupons. 20X points applies to most items in store including grocery and electronic items. You can use coupons to lower your OOP. It takes me some time to plan a trip to SDM. I go through all of my coupons and compare them to the sale items. I try to get my cash total as low as possible using coupons. I buy needed items, such as milk, on 20X points days. Good Luck

But remember if you have the $10.00 mistery gift card ( double double event last wkend) pls do not use it during events like this as you will not get your points. I did it today and no points was awarded, I called ho and I was told it becos I used the 10.00 card. So I will be returning the items back!. probably was posted here somewhere.
