Thread: Bad shoppers experience!

So I headed to shoppers this morning to take advantage of the "secret 20X optimum points" deal. First I bought 2 shoppers gift cards to get an extra 1000 points. DS and I each grabbed a cart and headed off! I wanted to maximized the optimum points I got so, I got alot of items that had bonus points coupons. I did my first transaction and everything went well. Except I was told she wouldn't use the 20X coupon unless my total was $50 after coupons (which it was anyways so no big deal)
I put all my stuff on the counter and then realize I didn't print out a second 20X coupon. So, I ran home and printed another one. Get back and the cashier says the manager needs to talk to me. So, the manager tells me that I can't use any of my bonus coupons with this transaction and the ones I just used in the first transaction would be deducted from my account because they clearly state that they can't be used in conjunction with any other shoppers optimum points promotions or offers. Which all of the bonus coupons say. I told her that everyone does this so, she precised to call head office and they told me the same thing.
So, after planning this trip around the bonus points I won't get any of them!!! Totally Sucks!!
Oh, and even before I checked out the cashiers were all giving me dirty looks and talking behind my back
I guess I'm a bad person because I use coupons! I will NEVER got back to that store again!

I would take everything back for refund from the first transaction that you don't really need.

Since when? The stores can't arbitrarily subtract off the optimum points, it is setup in their computer to deal with it and from what everyone has said you can use a bonus coupon even when it is a bonus points day. Sorry they treated you so badly!

I don't want to second-guess SDM or their HO but take their comments with a grain of salt. Things may have changed since they published their new policy, but SCers have been using bonus point coupons with 20X events forever!!
Let's just hope they think they know what they are talking about and see if bonus points from your coupons bonus points used during this event show up or are deleted.
Keep an eye on your account to see if it acutally happens and let us know.
I think SDM Optimum Points call-in desk should be manned/womanned by SCers to get the real information out to the public!!

I've only ever been able to see my total points, is there somewhere to see the 'transactions' of where the points come from? Thanks!
Oh, I agree, get SCers to man the phone lines, it is amazing how those shopping at stores better understand the policies and how their computers work than many working there :D

It amazes me that Airmiles is able to post all my transactions, but SDM "can't". Of course they could do so if they wanted to - and I think it would be a very good idea. I have been pretty disappointed with them recently.

you can use bonus points coupons and manufacturer's coupons and promos all together.
they have been confirming these details on their facebook page.
the one thing they are pooping on is when we use coupons to bring our after tax total down. (like buying $50 worth of items, and paying partially in coupons)

I agree with BOGO I would have returned everything, and gave my business to another store. (BTW This coming from an employee of SDM)
