Just switched to OTA yesterday! I'm soooo excited! Lots of HD channels for free (same list as CouponDude listed minus CTV. I live closer to Buffalo than Toronto so CTV comes in sporadically. Cable bill gone as of next monday! Wooohoo! $85/month in my pocket! Now to find a cheap internet provider. Any suggestions?

I recommend you go to DSL reports and create an acct (no Credit card) and poke arround. here is the section you need :
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/canbroadband
when you want just ask that question what are best internet options for - mytown
Friendly and informative, sometimes they get a bit techie, but just ask what you need.

Seems like a good idea but I don't think we would ever do it. Our entertainment fund for the month goes towards cable TV for DH = $29 and internet = $42 for me. Those prices include taxes.
With our cable we get channels 2-60. Seems like a pretty good deal to me I think. We are with Rogers for cable and Bell for internet.Insert Clever Signature Here

I called Acanac and Teksavvy and by the time I paid for all the equipment and dry loop it made it not worth it to switch for me. I am considering going with Comwave as my hubby uses them for his business line. They have a deal right now of $49.95 for telephone and unlimited internet. I pay more than that right now just for internet capped at 80 gig with Cogeco. Also, just bought the new MagicJack for $29.95 (new 2014 upgrade). It has a usb plug now and the ad says that they will be offering internet soon as well. Hopefully as cheap as they offer telephone!

Update - Ended up going with Bell. They offered me the best deal for our needs. 95 gig/mo., same download/upload speed as Cogeco, free install, free modem/router, free dry loop. $38.95/mo. for first 6 months and then $48.95 after. I can ad gig's at any time in increments of 25 for $5. I called or chatted with each of the companies you all spoke of and they all charged for equipment and/dry loop. Did the math, and it would have taken approx. 10-12 months for it to be worth my while to have switched. I'm just happy to be rid of Cogeco as well. Their customer service really did suck!

Availability of station is dependent on the distance from transmitter towers, as well as the placement of the antennas, mine are in my window 100 feet up from the ground.

We did try the Winegard FL5000 series FlatWave Amplified Antenna. It was O.K. for an indoor antenna. We picked up approx. 23 channels. I decided to try an outdoor antenna - EagleStar Pro 53-6165VA - and we now receive 33 channels on a regular basis and depending on the weather or time of day we sometimes get up to 44 channels. The Winegard was great if you need or can only have an indoor antenna. If you can go with an outdoor one, I highly suggest that you do.
