I totally agree... there is a way to save money and play by the rules so everyone is happy. It shouldn't be a stressful experience at the till for yourself or the cashier. Remember that they are just doing there job... be pleasant and appreciative of the deals the store allows you to find (rather than nasty and defensive).

all this show has done is make companies aware of their faults with coupons and you will see this change as well as limits will be set as to how many coupons will be able to be used. If you rub it in their face they will take notice. Coupon clipping services who charge you for the coupons are also under suspicion as coupons say cannot be copied, transferred or sold??? people pay these companies for the coupons...everything will change just wait and we shall all see..

target and rite aide aren't the only ones cracking down. kroger wouldn't let me stack an ecoupon with a paper one, but better 1 than none.

Okay, I'm guilty of hoarding Tide, Sunlight & liquid fabric softener, toothpaste (couldn't resist only paying .25 for a tube of Crest after the .75 coupon at Safeway - bought 12, and still have a stash of 4 tubes at home), 12 toothbrushes, 6 pkgs of 12 dbl rolls TP from SDM sale last week, Gillette razors, 16 pkgs of mega size pk diapers, mostly size 4's, some 5's & a few 6's bought from Zeller's when they were $8.99 & SDM when they were $9.99, 2 boxes of diaper wipes (320 count),about 12 tins of different types of soups, 12 Campbell's soup broth in tetra pack, 20 cans of Bush's beans - bought 12 today when they were 4/$5. @ a local store, 8 cans of chick peas. My overflow is stocked in a fridge that we're not using. Other than the diapers, wipes, TP, paper towel & some detergent, everything goes into my fridge that we're not using. I think this way, I can help control my hoarding a bit. I've also got 4 bags of chips & some crackers that have been set aside for DH's munchie food. A lot of the toothpaste, toothbrushes, some TP & canned beans will be given to the homeless people in the poorer area of town. I don't believe in giving $ to panhandlers, but if they're truly hungry, they will gladly accept food that I usually have stashed in the car for that reason. Now, I just have to go buy some Campbell's soup before the coupons expire.

Saving Moola I wouldn't consider that hoarding at all. That is a reasonable amount for a family over several months.

Extreme is 200 packages of the same flavor candy(like on Extreme Couponing). Even if you have a family of candy eaters that is a lot of candy for one family in a year. I would imagine I'd get bored eating the same treat day in and day out.

Our family has shopped at safeway for years. I love their airmiles bonus days and the cashiers know us. Last week I used about 12 coupons, 1 per item. They know I always have used coupons.
The last shop the cashier was saying I was like extreme couponing. She said it in a way to make me feel proud of my savings. My reply was that the company prints them I use them. Why would I not use them? We continued to chat about the changes in coupons wording.
She continued to say that the show extreme couponing has made it harder to use coupons. I said for sure. As I miss using the print out coupons at safeway. This was stopped at our location.
Everywhere I go people see my binder and ask questions.
One lady in Safeway was treating me like a very special person because I had my coupon binder. My binder was not that full either. Really loud she said your a person like on the extreme show. Almost jumping for joy. Saying how proud she was of me. I didn't even have a cart. It just made me laugh.

saving moola thats far from extreme couponing what this backlash is about.. the backlash is with people who regularly clear out shelves(power shoppers), who have SOOO much stuff they need rooms (yes multiple rooms) just to store it all more stuff then a family of 12 can use in a year kinda thing, the type when you walk into their home it looks like you walked into a grocery store there is soo much (you make me look like an extreme couponer lol i probably have 50+ cans of soup in different styles and flavors-hubby has a can a day, 10+ bottles of laundry soap, and i refuse to admit how many razors lol)

there is one extreme couponer from the TLC show that said compared couponing to crack (couponing is her form of crack and she's highly addicted will do anything for the high and openly admitted to it)
