---> Dear pushy older lady at the Independent grocery store today,
I know you were well aware that I was looking at the 50% off sticker on the Yves Mexican veggie ground round. It was obvious because I had my two coupons in my hand in full view, and I was standing right in front of them on the shelf. I felt very disrespected when you reached in front of me -without even excusing yourself- and grabbed both packages. I was briefly distracted by the math floating around in my head, but I heard you tell your husband (who was pushing the cart) to "Go, quickly." As you skipped around me and took off. I understand they were not actually mine, as they were not in my hands yet, however taking both before I even got a chance to think was a little bit rude.
I'll admit, I did giggle a little bit to myself as I saw you worming your way in and out of customers in the produce department as you grabbed (seemingly at random) all the items with 50% off stickers. Your poor husband!
I will take away something from today's episode, however. While you may feel the only way for you to get a good deal is to be pushy and to purchase only food very close to it's expiration date, I probably spend less than you do each month on groceries because I'm a proud Canadian couponer. So

Great rant. See, this is why the rant page exists.
Would have been funny if you had been able to reach out and grab her by the wrist and say "Not so fast, dearie!"
LOLI can't profess to understand God's plan. Christ promised the resurrection of the dead. I just thought he had something a little different in mind.

Unfortunately, it seems she subscribes the the "you snooze, you lose" theory. Whatever happened to the words "excuse me"...
So many coupons....so little time!

My grandmother, was kind of like that.. I don't think she'd buy it on s ale but.. if you were in a store with her.. you'd get in line.. she'd be wandering around, seemingly mindlessly and then somehow, she would be at the front of the line.. I've no idea how no one stomped on her foot.. she just wormed her way in..
Be sure to click like and post a brag if you get the deal.. It makes my day!!! Flattery may just get you more deals
Be sure to double check your flyer, points and cashback offers~ YMMV

My grandfather was like this too. DH and I visited him in San Francisco and uncle and family before we were married. He took us out for Dim Sum in Chinatown. It was super crowded and very unorganized how they seat people. He must have scouted the place because he wormed his way to a table that was finishing and dishes were being cleared away. He sat down and waved us over to the table. The previous diners had already paid and the dish clearer don't care. How can you be embarrassed when the other diners don't notice that you jumped the line? DH and I still reminisced about this when certain situations arises. "Remember your grandfather did this..."

---> lol great stories! I was really annoyed at first, but then I kinda found it funny. I have to find humour in things because I use coupons. That makes us targets for some reason.

Sorry you had to go through that too, but you got it off your chest and like you said her poor husband...in french we have an expression "aguissable" meaning, well it has a few meanings but in this case, miserable old self-centered and rude-crotchety old bat. Hope they're expired... and she gets allot of gas.
Small triumphs for small minds.

One time on a similar deals forum I read a quote that resonated with me..someone said "grab first, think later". It doesn't hurt to put something in your cart then search the coupon stash!
