Only if the seller still has an active bank account. Happened to me once. Seller took the money and removed her banking information from Paypal. So when I filed a dispute, I won but they weren't able to get my money because her banking information was gone. I had to wait 6 months for her to add banking info to her Paypal account before I got my money back. In the end the joke was on her but if she never started using Paypal again I would have been out of money.

Lunamoth: eBay and Paypal have changed a lot of their practices lately. If it's an eBay transaction and you win a dispute, you get the money back regardless of whether they have funds in their account. (Depending when your transaction was, this might have been the policy during your bad experience. Paypal just continued to send out the "there's no funds to collect" message even after their buyer protection plan said that wasn't the case!) If it's not an eBay transaction (i.e. on another web site or store) then you aren't protected - the seller has to have funds to recover. It's best to always use a credit card for funding payments. That way if Paypal finds in your favour but doesn't refund, you can simply do a chargeback and Paypal can't hold it against you!

Sally a day late, but I am so sorry to hear about your little fur baby. I know my little Marley has filled the empty nest void and she is my fur baby. Would rip my heart out if something was to happen. I wish you all the best.

Thank you sir! What a sad situation this is! I do have to give a ginormous thanks to everyone here who cares so much for SC, and takes the time to help eachother with matters like this!
Once again, thanks Sally, for all your hard work, even with all the awful things you have going on right now! Just read your recent medical bout, and with your poor fur baby, I would think matters like this would come dead last, yet here you still are, as always. Hugs and hopes for health are being send via super special mind waves tonight!

1. Is Boo Radley now aware of this entire matter?
2. What is being done about 'Sulley1234' defrauding SC members?
3. How is it that some people can sign up on SC with different usernames, but with the same IP address, and go undetected until they've committed multiple frauds?
4. Since we do have this person's address, is SC taking action regarding these frauds with a Postmaster Alert at Sulley1234's home address or reporting this to RCMP?
While having another sticky may be of some value, it will soon become very cumbersome and confusing to wade through all the pages of posts, just like it is when reading through this one. I feel we need less talk, more action when it comes to matters of such a serious nature.( Valiant, the valley-ant )

I know from an ebay transaction gone wrong (back when paypal didn't reimburse unless the bank account was attached) that you have to wait to report it until at least 6 weeks after it was mailed as right now (especially with the strike) the could just be late mailings - while it is obvious to us from the trade volume, there are still legal obligations the police will have to follow.
In my case, I had paid for express shipping and they still made me wait 6 weeks before I could make a police report to get the money back from my CC. Given that these would be mailed regular mail and there was the strike/lockout - I doubt there is much Boo can do for several weeks
