Hi everyone,
just to clarify.. In a VWT, the conductor leaves a rating for each of the riders and the riders leave a rating for the conductor? Do the riders leave each other ratings?
Thanks

Hi,
Just wondering if there are some rules on leaving ratings for the conductor and passengers. I was on VWT train that was started just before the strike by a Conductor who was planning to be away for a month in July. When the strike started, most of passengers already mailed their envies and the Conductor told us that she would not be able to send back our envies until Aug. As a result, when I got my envies in Aug - most of coupons were already expired.
I left a Neutral rating for the Conductor, explaining that while there was a Postal Strike, she should have never started her train knowing that she was planning to be away for an extended period of time. In return, the Conductor left a Neutral Rating to me saying that I should have read the Train Rules. I did and I followed the rules but she still rated me Neutral as a reciprocation for my Rating. I reported it to the Mods but got no reply.
any help?Last edited by Coupmama; Tue, Aug 9th, 2011 at 07:35 AM.

A question from me too...what do you do about ratings for a VWT train when you didn't receive anything? All other riders received envies and I assume, they all sent coupons for me as well so do I not rate anyone? Even if the envie showed up at this point, it would be expired. My envie was received by the conductor.

A train I just finished says to rate the conductor and the riders, however, I can only rate so many people in one day...is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

This may have already been asked but I haven't found it anywhere.
If you receive a neutral trade rating on a VWT even though you followed the rules of the train and the person who gave you the rating left a comment saying thanks for the trade!....shouldn't that really be a positive trade rating?
I received a neutral even though I followed all the rules. The person didn't pm me or post anything on the forum about the coupons I sent, and they were on his/her wishlist....so now I have this neutral trade rating....and I'm a bit of a perfectionist

I have a train that I don't know how to rate. It was a special train and I sent it out with 3 FPCs etc etc, and asked coupons to be replace by $ and type, so FPC for FPC of similar value etc..
Well this one came back with no FPCs (no BP coupons which were optional) and nthing much else which is to be expected.. But still I am upset that someone took all the FPCs and did not replace. There were only 3 passengers on the train, and only the first passenger posted what she took in and out in Re: to the FPCs...
Anyways I feel that others may be similarily treated on trains if this goes totally unnoticed...Looking for: Yogurt (FPCs)

I thought that if a train was derailed...neutrals were left for both the last one who received it and the next one who didn't receive it...
I left 2 neutrals, one was deleted...one was not....
How are we, as conductors, supposed to know if/where there is a problem? What is the point of 'rating' if there isn't any truth to it?Last edited by Allis154; Tue, Nov 22nd, 2011 at 05:02 PM.

as a daily trader on here and one of the top traders when leaving a rating you have to be fair too
Has the person ignored all your PM's?
Does there rating show any sign that they wont full fill this
Personaly I had a VWT go missing and after I drop it in the mail box I can not control what happens to it after that I cross my fingers and pray it makes it but it never made it I dont think its fair if someone would rate me because of that showing as I already have a great trade rating
I think people need to all be fair when rating someone I personaly do not leave negitive or neutral ratings unless its the last resort..

let me start off that i am not complaining about anyone, but just trying to add into the conversation about trade ratings.
unfortunately, it was mine that was not deleted. i pride myself in trading and riding trains, granted i am a little behind on leaving trade ratings. but when received, they are always sent out, communications are kept up to date and not ignored (ok maybe a few hours cuz i work shift work, and they can't be answered while at work). but i think that it is unfair to leave a neutral trade rating for someone because of something that happened while the envie was in the care of CP. my communications were up to date, i had posted when i had a couple of minutes a day or two after i had sent it, what i took out, what went in, day i got it and day i sent it, and what the boarding pass was. does that sound like someone who would keep the train? maybe a suugestion for everyone for the future of the trains.......if the person has a good trade rating and has posted and communicated according to the rules, maybe a trade rating should not be left for them then if the train does not show up at the next destination.
i had a train that i had joined before the CP strike in june. i had completely forgotten all about it. i got the train in october. i messaged the conductor and she thought the train was gone for good. the person that had it before me had sent it at the beginning of august. when i got it most of the coupons had expired and i had messaged the conductor about this. she was very understanding and basically said to take anything if i could, not worry about a boarding pass and continue it on its way. i still replaced the value that i took out of it and more so that the next person had something to choose from.
but just a suggestion:
things happen and the last rider that had it should not be penalized because CP lost it or whatever happened. if you are not sure then no trade rating should be left, especially if the person that last had it has a good trade rating. i completely agree with bricon1621 about this!!!

Sadly I have to read this thread, as I have a train that has gotten "derailed"
.
First 3 stops went amazingly fast, last stop before it came home to me has taken over 2 months, and the person has stopped communicating with me. I did not know to leave a negative, or a neutral, but I will be leaving a neutral for this person after reading this now.
It frustrating. I love doing trains on here because I love seeing coupons from all over the country. But its frustrating when you work hard at something, and see nothing from it.
At least I sent out 2 envies....got one home
.
