Thanks Goodess & Mission. Seems like they no longer do VIP program, so maybe I will try the trade thing, if not, it's a lesson learnt! I do hope I can use the gift cards though, but I tried putting a bunch of stuff in cart and going to check out and didn't have the option of use gift card! It really sucks

I'm in the same situation - have a $50 gift card the company apparently will no longer honor. Let us know if you find a way to use yours!

If you want to stick around town Ruth's Chris steakhouse at the Calgary Tower has a really great deal on Wednesday Nights...$99 for dinner for 2. You get to choose an appy to share, 2 Entree's, 2 sides, a desert and a glass of wine each (not just the house wine either, any from the list!) The meal is worth about $150-$200 depending on what dishes you pick. You can make reservations online. The food is really good there!

Cashier and manager couldn't figure out why and said Ontario enters the prices in system and they can't correct. So only paid $2.99 + .12 levy and will get back $1.20 in deposit later. Made the 12 pack $1.79 each...plus used a coupon for BOGO free.
Thanks for the tip, I got that deal too! I had the B2G1 coupon and gave the other one to my parents to use as the grandkids are coming!

That is a great place!! When my brother and sister-in-law got married, we actually rented the whole house! It was still being built when they booked and had just finished right before we moved in. They didn't have a chef at that time, but it was really a beautiful place!!

Hey, thank you I will check them out. It will have to be a weekend for us because my parents will be watching my DS for us and they work during the week.

Not sure of your preferences when it comes to amenities, etc, but if you like rustic and peaceful quiet, try Johnston Canyon. Its West of Banff on the Bow Valley Parkway. Its beautiful, and they have small cabins. Last time DH & & went there for an anniversary weekend was a few years ago, and if my memory serves me right, it was approx 150 a night then. (Ouch! But 'inexpensive' and 'room' are 2 words that do not go together during summer months in Banff )
There are no phones, TV, cable, satellite, etc in the cozy little cabins. Just solitude. Plus a fairly easy hike to a scenic waterfall is practically at your door. They do have a website & it may be worth cheking into if you are interested
When we stay there, we drive back to Banff to dine usually at Subway, McDonalds, etc, but as a special treat, one of our favourites is the Grizzly House (depending on budgets, it can be pricey, but when we only go once a year or every 2nd year, its worth it for us.). They offer all kinds of exotic meats that you cook yourself using oil fondue or hot rock slabs at your table. Don't lose heart, they also offer pork and beef selections to. Plus there is a meal for 2 thats not priced too high, that includes a chocolate fondue dessert.
Whatever you end up doing, hope you have a happy anniversary!
RRLF: I have no idea! I've been outta the loop far to long! I still have a Wish List
Make yourself happy, so those around you are free to be happy.

I am ok with sticking around town. My husband has been there before and said they are very good. I just want to do something special but we have a DS that will need a babysitter and I am pregnant so it limits our options.

Thank you, do you know how long of a drive it is from Calgary? Would it be to far for 1 night? It sounds really nice, and I really want to do something nice for our 5 years (Sep 2) but we do have a budget. I will see if I can find them online.
