I will admit I cannot stack in Ontario and this is nothing against stackers. But really I guess what i do not get is how people look at having the ability to stack and want/expect to make money off it. It is one thing to stack to get what you and your family need but why do people think they have the right to profit from this and pretty much take from others. Stealing whole tears pads clearing shelves, you can see where stores are coming from and it does suck.
But that is just my opinion and even in Ontario where we cannot stack you see people do it so not fully sure you can blame stacking.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Hmm...I don't think LD carries the reg. grind VanHoutte coffee - just the k-cups, I think.

I agree. Couponing & stacking is a privilege so we shouldn't clear shelves or tear pads. We must all share and just take what you need. There are some people out there who coupon because they have no choice - need to make ends meet. Not just because they like the thrill of getting a good deal. I remember watching extreme couponing and there was this lady who stacked diapers but she didn't have babies. Just stacked them cause they were free.

Please do not throw anything at me, but it is a lot like the $3 Zantac coupon. There are people who use this purely for the overage and are than throwing out the product as they have no use for it. Which sucks for people who use it and cannot get these coupons.
Or worse yet is I have heard (I have not seen it so this may not be true) but I have heard of people using the coupon to get the overage and than trying to sell the product or return. Why because they have no use for it like the lady with the diapers and no babies. They do it because it is free not because they need it where is someone who may need it will go without.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

I love zantac... I use it once to twice a day and if I didn't get it with coupons I would be getting it in perscription form so I can get it for free. It doesn't just help with heartburn... it also helps people with really bad allergies. In my case if i go off it in migraine season i am fubared fast.... so I am going to use up my zantac coupons and keep a nice stockpile of it. I don't try and go through with several at a time... i make trips through the till.... it can be painful but worth it.

My mom uses it for heartburn and I use it for stomach issues. Great since mom does not have prescription coverage and great for me when I cannot get to the doc to get a new prescription. Not to mention the Zantac actually works quicker than the prescription pills I take. They take about 3 to 5 days to start working and I have to stay on them for a month where is the Zantac works that day and usually just take them for a few days to be safe but I can usually stop after one or two days.
I actually just bought 5 of the 8 packs for $0.97/box at Wal-Mart and I plan to take 2 on our cruise with us for my tummy and mom's heartburn if needed. Just to clarify I only ever used one coupon at a time, the first week they only had one which I purchased and the next two weeks in a row they had stock and my mom and myself each bought a box. I have heard the Wal-Mart I was at will let you use multiple they do not care what the coupon says and I have to say it must be true as I did watch someone check out and use 10 of these coupons in one transaction to get the overage on the smaller box but I am not going to push my luck.

^^ They stopped allowing that a while ago. They couldn't keep it on the shelf when they allowed multiples.

Some good points --- perhaps some behaviours will change now.... perhaps not. I think right across Canada the tear pads are stripped clean quite quickly ... perhaps it is all tied to the "stackers" or people collecting coupons to trade with "stackers" ... who knows!
There are some big differences in prices though btw eastern and western Canada. Being able to stack some coupons has made the shopping more affordable for many. But you are correct in that many are stockpiling far more than their family can expect to use in a 6 mo to 1 year period and most products have a shelf life - even coffee and dried pasta and soups.....
Stacking has not allowed people to "make money" on items though - the only two places that stack(ed) were/are London Drugs and SOFs and neither allowed overage -- and for non-food items you pay the tax on the full price.
I've learned to only look at flyers posted from BC before I made up my grocery list otherwise I was very disheartened upon getting in the store and finding that our price was 25 - 50% more than the eastern flyer price. Stacking was a bit of a thrill - I have to admit on the dozen or so times that I've done it over the last year I got a charge out of getting coffee, cleaning products or crackers for very little (never free in my case). At LD I tend to stack for just a handful of products - the neutrogena, some shampoos and maybe advil being the usual ones.... I'm not a big fan of melitta coffee and the vanhoutte is only acceptable when we run out of the richer tasting beans (kicking horse or tribal being the preferred ones for us - and neither offer coupons
)
But like anything that is too good to be true - it has pretty much come to an end. P&G started to change this a few years ago - and now the other food suppliers have followed suit--- why would they reimburse 100 x $3 value coupons when only 20 products were sold? Doesn't make economical sense
Just appreciate that in Ontario your pricing is probably at least 10-20% lower than ours is here in BC

I am so glad to hear you have stuff ready for a emergency! It is recommended that you have a 3 day supply ready to go in case of a incident. Red Cross recommends we have a 3 week supply of food and water and ways to prepare it in our homes as well... baby wipes go a long way to stretching out that water supply!

So disheartening. I was so excited for SOF to come to Calgary too. Fingers crossed they bring it back someday!
