It's hard to find any unbiased reports from either side. No credibility anymore in the press or on TV for that matter.

Toronto press are particularly bad (not just on the Ford issue)

TBH I would slam a door in Domise's face if he showed up with media too. It was clearly a campaign move and not wishing him well
I saw it on the news however, there was no slamming. The door was opened a couple of inches then closed when she saw all the cameras. I mean if she invited him in, would he invite the media to follow him in?

have to say i would have done the same thing. it was such a blatant campaign move!

i can't remember where i first heard the report that was antiford slanted and didn't mention that domise had set it up by calling in the media before he called on the fords. once i saw the full story i had to change my opinion.

today there was a report that rob had turned up at st clair and keele where pedestrian had just been struck and killed by a streetcar. not sure what the full story is there yet.

i can't wait for this election to be over and the ford days to come to an end.
sick and tired of hearing about them and their antics, bullying and other awful behaviours.
especially sick of rob's need for public attention.

I disagree with his statement that cancer is not self inflicted. In many cases it is. Lifestyle does play a huge role in certain types of cancer.

Yup..we know that smoking, sunbathing and drinking by a person raises the risk of some cancers..

likewise working in the vacinty of certain chemicals, smokers and around radio-active sources also raises your risk of some cancers..

Being a woman rises your risk of being diagnosed with cervcial and overian cancers. being a man raises your risk of testical and prostate cancers. Being a mammal raises your risk of breast cancer...

The Smell Test: Did Doug Ford really win an award for outstanding community service?

Doug Ford claims he won the Paul Harris Fellow award for "outstanding service to the community." We check it out.

    The smell test

Doug Ford received the Paul Harris Fellow recognition in 2001, according to Rotary International. However, it would be an overstatement to claim it is the Rotary’s highest honour, or that it distinguishes the recipient for outstanding community service — or even that it is technically an award.

Rotary International divides its honours into awards and recognitions.

According to the Rotary International website, the Paul Harris Fellow recognition is given out to anyone who makes a one-time donation of $1,000 or more to the club. If you donate more than once, then you get to be a “Multiple Paul Harris Fellow.”

Rotary spokesperson Elizabeth Minelli confirmed Ford donated over $1,100, or that it was donated on his behalf, to receive the recognition.

The fellowship was established in 1957 to “show appreciation for and encourage substantial contributions,” according to the Rotary website. Each recipient gets a pin and a certificate. A fellow can also get a medallion — for a price.

Minelli said 1.4 million people have received the recognition to date.

She said often other people will make donations to honour a Rotarian of their choice.

For example, a janitor who has served 50 years at the Evanston, Illinois headquarters of Rotary was recently named a fellow by the staff, who donated on his behalf for all his hard work.

The Rotary Club does have awards to honour members who have devoted their services to the community in various ways — ones that require vetting and board approval.

For example, the Distinguished Service award, is described as the “highest service recognition” given by the club for those who have “demonstrated exemplary service to the Foundation.” In order to be eligible, the person must have won the Citation for Meritorious Service four years prior.

The award was given out to only 45 people worldwide in 2013.

Doug Ford was not one of them.

    The verdict

    Mostly false

As an aside, that's incredibly nice of the staff at headquarters who did that for the janitor.
