Less freebies these days

Has anyone else notice that we are getting less and less freebie give aways by companies these days? Or is it just me?

I remember a few years back, there were so many freebies to grab each day, and now.....have to wait for many days for a new one to show up...

I think a big part of it is that there are fewer in number giveaways - like when a company used to give away 2000, now they'll only give away 500 - and those go so fast.

I started getting freebies about a year ago. Back then the SampleSource would be up for a week or so. This time around it sold out in one day!

mm. I think luckbealady is right, they are offering less. and I think with the bad economy, more people are looking for freebies.

i have noticed that and partly yes i agree with you, but i also think it's partly me.. i find that i'm more choosy about the freebies that i sign up for.. i don't have babies so i won't sign up for anything baby-related, i don't have heartburn so.... well, you get the picture.. i was all over that robax platinum freebie though

I'm with GoJays. I didn't get the sample source and really I couldn't care less. Same with brandsampler, it's all meh to me anyways. I get enough of the things I need free or almost free with coupons.

i do think there are less freebies, and less FPCs floating around now a days then there was say.. a year ago.. i used to regularly have a dozen different FPCs in my binder at all times now.. i might have 3-4, and companies are offering less freebies or not at all.. there's no new kinder egg freebie (there was atleast two last year), there was no Olay mother's day full product freebie this year when they had offered one for the past 3yrs in a row

Yes! I haven't even found particularly good razor coupons lately either (exception of the Schick ones). I'm kind of picky about razors though, need to be 4 blades or more - 3 blades goes in my donation bag.

Maybe the companies are finding that even after they offer free products their sales don't go up since people are no longer "trying before buying" but rather grabbing just to donate/give away. I mean the whole purpose of it is to increase product sales in the long run, right?

Yes it is sad,I remember a fews freebies that where there 3 Years in a row(since my beginning on couponning and freebies experiance) and they dont reappear.I really miss those but when I see a freebie it is a motivation to got it,because I know compagnies put less.I really hope for a Kellogs FPC of cereals or the Holliday Boxe for this year tought. fingers crossed!!!

I agree with everyone but then I think it's because people also abuse the freebie system.
If you're ever downtown or at any event, and something is being given out, HOARDS of people are there taking 15 items.
Or online, people send freebies to 7 addresses....but the items just sit in their closets.

I always find it slows down greatly towards fall and winter... and picks up some in the spring and summer. Seems that's when companies try to promote the most.
