Stretch Your Dollar Package Train - Budget Train


This train is designed to allow our SC buddies get the most bang for their buck. We all know the rush of getting a cartload for pennies and now is your chance to show off how its done by spending the least OOP. We want to see your brags obviously not stating what the item is but that you pm’d, used a coupon and will get cash back on the item. A lot of time we have many of our buddies items in our own stockpile ie razors, shaving cream etc. Shop SDM redemption days, clearance sections/racks and buy items using coupons. Most stores have in store coupons, ie Canadian Tire (Ct money), Target(stacking), Bulk Barn’s famous $3 off wus $10, Michael’s 40% off any reg. pried item etc. CO51, snapsaves or MIR money saved after the fact. .

GENERAL RULES

• There are two Package Trains running at this time: the Christmas Gift Exchange Train and this one.
• You may only ride 1 train at a time. Trains must be finished before joining/conducting another train. Note: If riding the Christmas train, you cannot ride this one as they will be running simultaneously.
• This package train will be open for boarding for a minimum of 24 hours. We will be boarding until November 28th.
• Seats on each train may be limited. The conductor and moderator will confirm your seat. Until that time you are not a rider on the train.
• SmartCanucks owner / mods / admins /poster of this thread and conductor are in no way responsible for any lost / stolen / misplaced gifts.

TO RIDE A TRAIN YOU MUST

• Have a minimum of 50 posts.
• Must have a trade rating of at least 25 – these ratings cannot be from all VWL Trains or RAOKs
• No negative trade ratings (exceptions may be made if they are over one year or at the moderator's discretion – no exceptions will be made if these ratings came from package trains)
• Be an active member of SmartCanucks.
• Post if you are participating in any other trains and exchanges.
• If you do not meet all of the guidelines this does not mean you automatically are excluded. Please PM the train mod as exceptions can be made

All riders are approved by a team who work hard to ensure that package trains run smoothly and everyone receives their gift.

• When requesting a seat, you must include the following statement with the information requested by the conductor: "I have read and understand all the Package Train Rules/Guidelines. I understand if I do not follow the guidelines my name will be added to to the consequence list in the sticky and may be banned from riding future package trains”
• You must wait for the package train mod's approval before you are considered a rider
• Once approved, you must send your information within 24 hours or you will be removed from the train
• You must mail by the stated date. Please note that package trains MUST have tracking unless delivered in person. Please be advised: Package mail can cost $10-20 dependent on weight and size (this cost will be over and above our OOP cost for this train and not included in calculating the average $/item spent)
• You must be active on the package train thread. A minimum of 10-15 posts are required on each train including your posts for requesting your seat and sending and receiving your package. (too many people disappeared during trains without sending, this is a way to ensure the member is still active on the board).
• You must post when you have received from your buddy (preferred that you state what you received and/or photo of gift)

Your final post in the thread must contain
-when you receive your package
-a list of what it contained
-a photo of your package (in case your buddy does not have a camera please take a photo before sending)

• If sending liquids, they must be sealed in a ziploc bag (if they leak the package will not be ruined)
• Any items from the dollar store (from wishlist) are considered full size items and are being counted as full size items for this train
• Samples, trial & travel size items are counted as full size items for this train

Explanation of this Package Train
1. You must send a min.of 7 of items, one from each category.
2. You request a seat, once approved you will send a wishlist of items you would like.

2. You are paired with a buddy and sent their wishlist, questions can also asked in the thread so you can find out more about your buddy
3. You send a package to one person and someone (it is likely different than the person you are sending to) sends to you
NOTE: postage will be more expensive than regular trains, often $10-15 but as high as $30 if sending out of province on bigger trains

Sorry, I would have joined but with being gone for a week I wouldn't want to leave my buddy hanging. I will keep an eye out for the next time it is run.
