The Ukrainian National Security and Defence Council (NSDC) has announced today that one Ukrainian soldier has been killed and eight wounded over the last 24 hours.

Yesterday evening, the Ukrainian military reported intense fighting both east and west of Svetlodarsk, which lies between separatist-held Gorlovka and the strategically important Ukrainian front line positions on the Artyomovsk-Debaltsevo highway at Luganskoye.
Earlier this morning, the military's ATO Press Centre claimed that there had been attacks on positions in the Donetsk region throughout the night.
According to the report, this same area, around Gorlovka and Luganskoye, was the scene of continued shelling, with mortars, grenade launchers and machine guns directed at the settlements of Luganskote, Lozovoye, Kirovo, Leninskoye and Mayorsk.


In the immediate vicinity of separatist-held Donetsk, Russian-backed fighters shelled Avdeyevka, Opytnoye, the Butovka mine, Krasnogorovka, Kamenka, Starognatovka, Peski, Vodyanoye and Marinka, the ATO Press Centre reported.
To the south, the military reported an anti-tank missile attack on positions in Granitnoye, which lies to the east of Volnovakha.
There was also shelling in Shirokino, east of Mariupol, where Ukrainian forces are holding the west of the village.

The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) has announced that a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV or drone) was shot down by Ukrainian troops yesterday. - near the village of Vodyanoye, just outside Donetsk.

A flash mob to mark Ukrainian Embroidery Day in Russian-occupied Crimea on Thursday resulted in four Ukrainian activists and three TV Inter journalists being detained, interrogated for five hours and having their fingerprints taken. When asked why the fingerprints were needed, the officers replied that this is in case “something happens to you tomorrow. Headless bodies get found here”.



The flash mob was totally innocuous. Four activists planned to take photos of themselves near the above structure on the road leading to Crimea from the Armyansk border crossing with mainland Ukraine, and then post the photos on social networks A TV Inter film crew arrived to film them in a separate car.
The police turned up in large numbers and first searched the cars, claiming that they had received information that “prohibited items” were being transported.
They found nothing yet took all journalists and Ukrainian activists to the police station where they were held for almost 5 hours, as well as being photographed and, as mentioned, having their fingerprints taken.


They were finally released with the protocol drawn up claiming that they had been detained “to establish their identity”. Inter journalist Yulya Kryuchkova points out that the police were immediately shown their journalist ID and documents from Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry. She adds that the activists also had their documents on them.

Bodies of killed cyborgs found

Friday, May 22. DONBAS – The press centre of the ‘anti-terror’ operation (ATO) HQ reports, the bodies of the Ukrainian servicemen – cyborgs were found in the Donetsk Airport (DAP).



Their identification will be performed after special expertise completed. The OSCE representatives monitored the operation.

The famous Ukrainian Cyborg and commander of the 90th battalion, 81th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleh Kuzmynykh, who was being held captive by Russian proxies, was released yesterday at 21:58 p.m., according to President Poroshenko's Facebook page.



Today, Kuzmynykh arrived in Kyiv and finally met with his family for the first time in four months. He also attended a special meeting with President Poroshenko and was awarded a medal "For Courage".
