I've never read the book or seen the movie titled "The Secret". You know the one about the law of attraction -- we attract into our lives experiences, people, etc that match the frequency of our thoughts and feelings. I just couldn't buy into that thinking. But now, I'm kind of believing it. Since joining SC in July and starting to coupon I've had the following happen to me:
    - About a week after joining SC, a woman in line ahead of me at The Bay had a printable coupon for 20% off. She and I got talking and when she was finished her purchase, she let me have her coupon. And the cashier let me use it.
    - Last month I received a $10 Casey's gc in the mail. Just bulk mail, not addressed. I guess Casey's was mailing them out in my neighbourhood. I've never had that happen before.
    - On the week-end, the butcher at Loblaw's RAOKed me when I was buying 2 beef kebabs -- he gave me a third one for free.
Maybe I'll go to the library and borrow "The Secret". Who knows, maybe learning the secret will advance my couponing even further.

    kristeven,
Sorry, not a a fan of The Secret myself. Saw Oprah go ga-ga over it on her show.

What may also be happening is that you are now looking out for coupons, deals and are a more savvy shopper. The butcher saw a good attitude in you, maybe or you were in the right place at the right time.

In the book, "The Milliionaire Next Door" (T. Stanley), one millionaire said, do what you love and the money will come to you. Don't chase after money. That would be a good book or audiobook from the library, IMO.

I loved the Secret book myself, but to each their own I'm going to check out that book that Shwa Girl recommended as well!

Maybe you are just being more observant of coupons/deals etc ? I'm finding it's that way for myself lately. Either way, you have awesome luck

Love both Secret books - truly believe what is written within those pages. Started reading The Millionaire Next Door but found it really hard to get into. Sounds like I should pick it up again.

I am a total believer in Karma. The universe will give you what you need. I think if you send out positive thoughts and acts to the world you will get the same back.

Totally agree. You do become more aware once you start doing something you love. The secret was not worth the read.

The secret to The Secret is......

There is no secret, save your money lol Or write a book about a secret

Live your life being kind, honest, and respectful and in turn those qualities will be returned.

There's no question having a positive outlook has great benefits. It may not cause a million dollars to fall into your lap but you'll be happier with far less stress and that has incredible health benefits. And good health and peace of mind are worth a lot more than a million dollars.
