Haven't even been able to even get ground beef at a decent price, we've just been buying ground pork.

Here a good price for inside/outside round roasts that I'd buy at would be anything less than $7/kg - about $3/lb. However, it's been a long time since I've bought any!

And, gee, blade steaks always seemed to be affordable = and they sure aren't any more! I don't mind at all using recipes with very long cooking time - I can make anything taste good!

I always wow when I see postings of people on SC buying/making prime rib - that is something I've never bought, it's just way, way too expensive here.

BTW, why are you people talking about price per pound? Wondering why you aren't metrified?
I only think in kg - then have to go to an online converter to compare the prices you buys listed, lol!
'cauz we are old .....otherwise, sorry, i can't help, i almost never buy beef....only for cipate (french canadian regional meal) few times a year...and always find it very expensive ± $12 to $17 @ kg

    LOL, I'm old, too, Mia!

Actually, I think it was because I was teaching primary grades, and just got used to using it.
Plus, my husband is from E. Europe so he thinks in metric.

Get a dedicated meat freezer and then buy a cow. We get Organic Beef direct from a farm for $3 a pound.

I'm a Costco fan. For roasts or stew meat, I buy a sirloin tip I think it is, a whole one, and cut it up. Normally it's a $30 piece of meat, and I'll two two roasts, the rest as stew meat. It's about $3 a pound I think the last time i bought it. Steak comes from Costco too, their sirloin grilling steak is wonderful. Costs a bit more than Sobeys or Superstore, and the pack you have to buy is at least $20, but is still reasonable in price and 10x better.
