Thread: Safeway's Sweet AirMiles Deals

The other thing is, you have to have a code from the store to place a bid or buy an item.. a code is only good to bid on or buy one item. The initial auctions go from 19-22 AUG.. so you might have a good chance of getting something for a deal at the start.
Today's 'groupon' deal is a NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® Piccolo coffee maker. 300 Air Miles - not bad.

Checked the e-auctions again. I think that yes only the person who gets AM's deducted is the person that wins. I at first thought it was like penny auctions where everytime you bid you lose a certain amount of money or in this case AM's. Glad to see this is not that. More like E-bay.
I did a shop today at Safeway and got 272 AM's and 4 e-auction cards. I am going to wait and see a bit before I bid. Am really only interested in the Safeway Giftcards. But some neat stuff on there. I don't have tons of points so alot of the auctions already need more AM's than I have.http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/PinkSapphire. Click to get FREE Giftcards just for searching the web. It is so easy.

The Auction..
Today's 'buy' deal isn't flying off the shelf.. less than 1/2 way 'activated'. I'm sure the iPod Touch will be a lot more popular tomorrow. Some stores are slow giving out the tickets. I was @ City Square Safeway lunch time today.. and the cashiers weren't giving out tickets. I asked and she didn't know about it right away and had to ask someone - who went and found some.

Am I the only one who thinks this is rediculous? I can't be, right? Is anyone willing to start writing letters to Safeway about this? One voice, maybe a few more may not make much difference, but what if it's a lot of us...and we keep bombarding them? I, for one, would give them so much extra business if they allowed me to bring the end result down a bit, while they still get the full benefit. Very frustrating!

Looks like the first Group Buy is going to fail.
As to the iPOD, judging by the wording it's not "first 100" but "100 minimum to make it a go.
I'm also wondering if the 750AMs to activate is a misprint as someone has already bid 3210 AMs for the one available for auction. We'll know in 10 minutes.

Bob: it may be based on the generation of iPod although the one where a person has bid 3000+ doesnt specify which one, so at this point who knows, the site is getting hammered

Same thing, the problem with sites getting hammered, it's like a snowball, when a person gets that error they will open up several other tabs and keep trying to login, so as more and more start to try and logon as time goes on you have way more users then their servers can handle, lol.

I'm just wondering if safeway pulled the plug on the site because it was getting hammered and is going to start it up again. I got through tons of times but there was nothing on the group buy side of the page (blank).
