Trenton is a busy place.
I was able to watch several of the acts for tomorrow's airshow practice today.
Snow Birds, our F18's and the hurc's.
Yesterday watched the B52 come in and that was very cool.
The Lancaster is here, Andrew got to help bring it in.
Heading to the base early, hoping to get the kid stuff done.
Then planning to sit on the boat, in the bay, for the afternoon's aerial show.
I Love Lucy!
Voice of experience: "Cataract surgery is a breeze compared to the other crap you have dealt with."
Now I just have to wear the cheaters to read!
Love you, beat them all!

Loocie! I am sending big hugs! Warm fuzzies! And special prayers! May the lord be with the surgeons as they work to restore your sight! May he hold you in his gentle arms to bring you the healing that you will need to cope with the recovery. God Bless You!

Dancing Anyway
Wounds can be healed
Some leave a scar
Some leave us walking
with a bit of a limp
We can spend years
trying to walk as if
we'd never been hit
Learning to pass as someone
who has never felt the blade
never been burned by the fire
Trying to fade every scar
Or we can accept what is
and move to the music as we are-
a little lopsided
tilting into the wind
coming to a sudden stillness
when a voice or a movement
ignites an old neural pathway
with the remembered scent
of blood and burning
We pause for just a moment
not breathing
Then exhale
and inhale
and move to the the melody once more
Some wounds
even after they're healed
leave us walking with a bit of a limp
But they cannot stop us from dancing

Fireworks at the cottage, you can hear them & feel them explode?
Impressive colours will sizzle; is that pyrotechnics morse code?
The boom is loud & it echoes & scares the dog out of its wits,
You can write your name with sparklers, but only until the thing quits,
It is Canada Day my compatriots, don't you just love living this life?
You can be anybody's husband or anybody's wife!
We are in fact a nation that keeps on evolving & growing,
Yet we are so blase about Can-ad-isms, when in fact we should be crowing!
There are issues that we are facing, when don't like it please write your MP,
I've had some patronizing reply when I crabbed about paying hydro "delivery"!
We have hockey, lacrosse, smarties, poutine & nanaimo bars,
Butter tarts, coffee crisp & beaver tails & snow tires on our cars,
We love Tim's with devoted loyalty & Canadian Tire shopping is a given,
We invented duct tape, zippers & pablum, but that is not how we are driven,
We have a land that is vast & impressive for it is a sightseers paradise,
Just do appear in a fuddle duddle phone video, would be my only advice,
Happy Birthday to Canada, as future generations are lying in wait,
Our country will be very good to you, as long as you take charge of your fate.

Missing you in every aspect of the phrase is my personal realization,
That personal touch of yours continues to be something I strongly feel,
You kept so quiet & dignified, while you fought such a vile ordeal,
I am not sure why you kept it all inside, but I knew that was your choice,
There were only a few rare times when I could hear angst in your voice,
Your birthday celebration would have been a very quiet & low key,
No pictures allowed & also no scrolling on the birthday marquee,
Sue my dear you were so dear to me & you deserved so much credit,
Comparing both of our cancerous experiences, wished that we could edit,
They say that grieving & acceptance eventually fall into place,
It is a bit erratic as it does not necessarily keep a comforting pace,
Remember taking the boys to the movies & Marc getting lost at the zoo?
Legendary Christmas dinners, family time memories do accrue,
There was always reassurance as you really gave so very much,
Your sisterhood & friendship still have an impacting touch,
Your family will always miss your presence & I can honestly acclaim,
Life is a regular thing for us, but we’ll never be the same.

I thought I would let you know, I am having a bit of a hard time right now with a situation that jumped up and took me by surprise. I was feeling pretty lost and not sure what to do. I still dont know but I saw a few posts from you here and there and they shifted my perspective, enough that I could at least clear my mind and focus a bit. Thank you Loocie, for your strength, your perseverance, your prose and your light. I know your intention may not be to inspire but you do.
