I'm having a good day....

So, I guess I can't report anything that's new,
But I would rather be enjoying tranquility with a paddle & canoe,
No power boats that blast the silence right off of a lake,
Just me & the loons enjoying the peace of taking a break,
Though I don't like paddling in choppy waters,
It doesn't matter to me that I never be a bourgeois Yachter,
Peaceful thinking seems to do the trick when my heart needs uplifting,
I almost feel the skies, as the horizon is drifing....

International Woman's Day.

I'm sure you all know many inspirational women who have made a difference in your lives, I know I sure do. One of the great things about being a woman is that we all have a sensitive & sentimental side that is always with us. Especially when we are thinking about some of the women that we miss so much.

Girls always remember to have fun,
& protect your delicate skin from the burning sun,
Stick together, share secrets, love & laugh,
& always step up on one another's behalf,
For friendship is a link that binds friends together,
& keeps are hearts in sync always & forever.

I find that sometimes when I am feeling rattled, I think about my Mom. She always knew the right thing to say & always had good solutions for frenzied daughters. I would love to pick up the phone & hear her voice....

In some ways I am relieved she didn't have to see me get sick. It would have been so hard for her. (we lost my big brother in 1989 to brain cancer & she was never quite the same lady after that).

Love really does live in your heart forever. My Mom & I had some really good times together & her warmth is always with me. I think she helped me to be a better Mom to my boys.

The therapy of the day for me is enjoying some good memories that take me places where I feel good. This picture taken in 1974 was on one of our many day trips. It was also the one & only time that I visited Marineland & Game Farm in Niagara Falls. xx
