Did you know I've made a lunch that is extra scary?
Worm & spider sandwiches that are extra hairy,
Menacing burgers that are screaming out boo!
& ghoulish martinis with eyeballs too,
Apples for bobbing & pumpkins for the carving,
At our Halloween lunch, you will not leave starving,
Skeleton stew & graveyard jello,
Cobweb candy & treats that are a greenish yellow,
Trick or treat wishes I send with a howl,
Just beware of those creatures who are out on the prowl!

I'll be back to my usual routine this coming week. I even have a night appointment for a Ct scan. I can't believe that it is almost November! It seems to me, that time goes by no matter what, so we all might-as-well make the most of it.

Shell out, shell out the Witches are out, is what we used to say,
Around the block & up the street as we masqueraders made our way,
Armed with a pillow case & a Unicef Box with the moon as our tour guide,
Princesses & spooky make up that looked just bona fide!
Broomsticks, fangs & cobwebs & pumpkins on the porch,
Mysterious & spooky oh those hair-raising screams so loud they almost scorch!
Little devils & fairies, perhaps a scarecrow or two,
Cauldrons, monsters & spider webs give a gruesome cry of boo!
Blackcats, mummies & elf’s & ghouls with those wax fangs,
Ghosts, magic wands & goodies to satisfy those hunger pangs,
Stopping off at home to unload & go back out for more,
The house that gave out caramel apples; a kid could not ask for more!
Going out with your friends made Halloween all the more exciting,
Examining your haul dumped on your bed, though cavities may be inciting,
Happy Halloween one & all, be safe & watch out for skeletons & trolls,
& if you are brewing a potion over the fire, remember to stir the coals!

On to more important things that should matter a lot to everyone. Remembrance Day - Give generously to the Royal Canadian Legion when you buy your poppy. It is the Legion who selflessly do marvellous work in our communities. In 2012, I was picked up & taken home every day in a van that the Legion donated to the Canadian Cancer Society. It made a huge difference in my life to have no worries about transportation at a very difficult time in my life. I could not have done it without them. Since my journey continues, I am just as grateful for the help I get now getting to Princess Margaret Hospital.
I remember my Dad, my Uncles & family friends who served our country in WW2.
To all veterans...young & old...past & present, we salute you.
My Dad's service medals, portrait & one of the ships he served on - The Iroquois. This portrait hangs proudly at my brother's house.

Loocie, that's a lovely photo of your Dad and a gorgeous rendering of one of his ships...! You are right to be so proud and so supportive of the Legion.
May you always find your balance, Loocie...

Hello Loocie!
We are up watching the baseball game. WHY are they still playing baseball in NOVEMBER?
Put turn back the clock together with Halloween and a full moon- it's a wonder we're not ALL out howling!
The assembly for Remembrance Day is the only one mandated by the Education Act in Ontario. That's why I resist supporting a holiday for schools on Remembrance Day. I was always proud of the way students and teachers showed their respect for the day and learned about their history.
It's very sad that while we are losing veterans who served in the Second World War, that we are unfortunately replacing them with modern day veterans who have served in Wars overseas.
Hoping your week goes well!
