Hey everyone - thanks for the great compliments!!! The $4000 was savings by using coupons...... over $2500 of it was diapers and formula alone!! Its nice when you can look at your savings as a chunk like that - pretty rewarding I must say!!

My husband LOVES electronics and gadgets etc.... in April, we went on the hunt for a new TV, and at that time he bought a 55in..... he was so excited about it and just loved it...

On Friday, we went to The Brick For a coffee table - and there was a group of men huddled around this new 70inch tv ( they just hit stores ) and of course my husband joined them!! It was like a pack of hens all chirping over this thing!! it was the cutest thing!! A few of their wives looked at the husbands and said "dont even think about it" lol!! Chad was going on and on with the rest of them with the "ohhh look at the color... and Ohhh look at the picture... and ohhhh its so big" but never even mentioned buying one ( as I said he bought a 55inch a few months ago - I think he was kicking himself for that!!l lol ) so as he was staring at it - I said "lets buy it" and it went quiet - he said "no I shouldnt" I leaned in and whispered to him "honey - I want you to have it - I save more than that in coupons in a couple months" - a smile went across his face and he was GIDDY!!!! I am known to be the cheapie pants of the family so he defiantly did NOT expect me to say that!! lol!!

I did the wheeling and dealing with the salesman and got it for $600 OFF PLUS FREE delivery!!! ( cause this girl pays full price for NOTHING!! lol )

The pack of men who were looking at it with him were patting him on the back, salesmen were saying they were jealous it was great to see him so happy!!!

The delivery guys called him spoiled ( playfully ) when they delivered it yesterday when the saw the 55inch already on the wall and they laid the 70inch next to it!!

I love to coupon, but when it turns into great things like donations or gifts for my family - there is nothing quite like it!!!

    Thanks again for the compliments!!!

I ALWAYS haggle with sales people - this particular salesman is very use to it.... in january I got $300 off our couch set, then in April I got $200 off our other TV, then in June I got $400 off our table set, and again last month I got $200 off our bedroom set.....

I just let them know they arent the only store in calgary, that they have lots of competition and its easy to walk away - let them know ( or at least think ) that you are willing to walk away if you dont get what you want!!

The free delivery was a gem though!! Even the manager high fived me and told my husband "I LOVE YOUR WIFE - SHES BRILLANT!!" After I already had the price negotiated, I said ok, If you will deliver it for free its a done deal!! ( he knows from previous purchases Im in strathmore which is 45 min from calgary ) and he said no, we cant give you free delivery that far, we just cant - thats when he got the manager over to see what they could do... they talked a bit and said "heres what we can do - we will pay half the delivery, and you can pay half.... deal??" I said ( this is the BEST PART ) "How bout.... the chair that goes with the dining room set I bought last month is a little wobbly.... since its under full warranty, perhaps you guys should come check it out..... oh and while your at it - you can drop off my new TV!!!" lol - they both laughed, thats when the manager high fived me, and told my husband I was brillant - he said ok, free delivery little miss!!! lol!!!

All in a days work!! lol!!
