This needs a big old B-U-M-P!
Remember, before posting a freebie, make sure it is indeed a FREEBIE and not a sweepstakes, where people enter to have a chance to get something free.

I really don't see what the problem is. FREE means FREE.
If I have to buy something to get something free, then it's not free. How is it free when I have to BUY a coke or BUY a box of cereal to get something free?
Perhaps there really is a need for a sub-forum for 'Free with purchase' or 'Free but must pay shipping and handling' or 'Free but must pay postage (mail-in rebates) type deals.Last edited by Alpaca; Wed, Aug 24th, 2011 at 01:36 PM.

You're right, it's not free. Promotions such as the ones you described should be posted in the Canadian Shopping Deals and Flyers forum.

Sigh, I wish more people would read this.
If your freebie requires a coupon to be used at a certain store during a certain sale, it should not be in the Freebie forum.Last edited by manzervite; Wed, Aug 24th, 2011 at 04:03 PM.

Couldn't agree more with you. I have bumped this thread a couple of times to no avail.
And I really dislike those "Free Toilet paper ... if you happened to get the coupon last month in the paper, Charmin is on sale at Metro in Ontario, so that's free. I don't get any of those papers and live in a small town so majority of stores are not anything close to my home, definitely no freebies for me.
Also lately a lot of "hey i received a sample of peanut butter in the mail today, you should receive it too'' Well guess I'm not cool enough for these things because I never get them, and even if I was lucky enough to get them, that would just be a great surprise if I had no idea about it!
I like the idea of a section for "Free with purchase'' though.

Oh my gosh! I'm so glad I'm not a moderator, trying to rangle everyone across the country to follow the rules, no matter how simple and obvious they are.
This is one reason why I rarely ever post anything. And would never post about a deal or coupon or freebie. I would be guarrenteed to put it in the wrong place or with the wrong address or the wrong something on it.
Thanks to all our mods for the great job they do reguardless of how hard it is some days. Just know that there are silent members out there that really appreciate you.Last edited by kimmie bt; Wed, Aug 24th, 2011 at 06:03 PM. Reason: spelling
