My kids both outgrew their clothes at the same time his year and my budget is a little tight this week so I thought I'd dedicate a day and go 'hunting' at a few thrift stores. I found some amazing deals (more for my daughter than my son this time, but I had just gotten him some jeans at osh kosh so he is okay for now.

I was able to get :

8 sweaters (one for me) all brand name.
    4 shorts
    10 pants
    4 shirts
    2 skirts
    4 dresses

a nice picture for my ds's room and two other hockey related things for him. And I got myself a curling iron.

I am one very happy mommy!

Thanka everyone! I should add it was 50% off everything at one store and 50% off children's clothes at the other so I did amazingly well just on luck.

Also, I just googled one of the sweaters I had gotten my daughter, (Tripple flip bubble minx) and it's a $59 sweater!! I think I paid $1 for it.

Fantastic shopping! Nice to also have kids that have some appreciation for getting decent clothes! And a mom that takes the time to scout them out.... good work Kids that just get new, new, new and brand labels constantly thrown their way have no real sense of appreciation -imho

As a new mom (many years ago) I remember how hard it was to find the funds to fork out for decent clothes .... and how expensive brand new clothes were... and kind of sad how long they fitted. Now my DS is 18 and his jeans actually last a lot longer (he hates shopping and is not "brand conscious" so they last even longer).
