Yep.....We really looked forward to seeing The Artist because we're big fans of old black and white movies...old 'techicolor' movies, lol...and perhaps we had too high hopes for it, but it sure fizzled for us.
It was like...a mockery of old B/W movies...the actor (sorry, can't remember his name) looked like a buffoon most of the time...maybe he was told to exaggerate his acting, but why?, when the originals were so good! Now on earth he managed to snare best actor at Cannes boggles our minds...I guess no one else did anything of any repute OR, I suspect, there was a general "if you didn't love it and appreciate this NEW type of movie, then you're just not IN with the IN crowd"...speaking of other actors etc. All hype, big disappointment.
But. That's just our opinion...
I'd be interested to hear your opinion when you see it....
Oh, forgot one: The Ides of March...I'd give it a 9/10..hubby: 7/10 but I love political movies...how many times have I watched All The President's Men?...ohhhhhh....you don't want to know! LOL!!Last edited by Lynn49; Thu, Feb 9th, 2012 at 10:44 PM.

The Vow 7/10
It was cute, I smiled, giggled, and there were some sad parts (no tears from me this time) but it really wasn't what I was expecting. Channing Tatum is always nice to look at though

Ahh, I am so sad that I didn't see this thread before...because I am stuck in the house all winter (power chair doesn't like wet lol) so my roommate and I usually get 3 movies every other day...it's cheap and fun!
Last night I saw A Horible Way To Die - I would rate it a 2/10 it was absolutely horrible! No real story line and to think it was based on a true story! YIKES
We saw Real Steel - I would rate it 10/10 excellent movie...keeps you on your toes all the time and it's super sweet!
Final Destination 5 - I would rate it 8/10 but I love blood and gore!
Moneyball - 5/10 keeps you guessing but didn't hold my interest!
The Ledge - Good movie, great eye candy! Jax Teller (I know that's not his real name) 10/10 great movie!
Water For Elephants - Good movie but a little slow and hated to see the abuse to animals but a 9/10
The Lincoln Lawyer - Excellent movie 10/10
Dont Be Afraid Of The Dark - Good but not wonderful 8/10
Dream House - Interesting but you really have to pay attention 9/10
I am sure I will think of many many more! Tonight I will be watching Straw Dogs so I'll let you know what I think! What do you mean you didn't use a coupon??????

ok just saw the movie All Good Things (apparently I have to wait for the roomie to watch Straw Dogs LOL) and it was ok not very fast paced and preaty drawn out! But still worth the watch if you like true crime etc...another based on a true story movie...let's give it a 7/10 since it's ok but not wonderful!
I saw a trailer for Conviction and I really really want to see it! Maybe when I return movies on Monday I'll get that one...even though it is roomies turn to pick the movies maybe I can sneak it in there! LOLWhat do you mean you didn't use a coupon??????

Just to update, this movie is made by Japanese animators so it's like Ponyo by the Sea. It's family friendly so no swearing or sex.
The tiny people sitting in our row loved it. They gave their grandmother a play by play of the scenes and they got every joke. They were still talking about the movie after it ended.
A winner for tiny people and big people alike.

I saw Goon, it was 8.5/10 for me. A hockey movie for hockey fans, it was based on a true story, and it was funny with some meaning in it too.
I hated straw dogs lol, i will not rate it because the story was just so far fetched, and the movie kinda depressed me lol
I also saw stake land, great B movie!! Vampires and such7/10
