Today I watch Gosford Park for the first time on the movie network it was really good strange but good. I give it a rating of 4.5/10.

I saw Avatar in the movies in 3D on Thursday when the movie started it out it got hard to focus using the glasses. Yet I really enjoyed the movie even though I did not potentially want to see it. I thought there was a story line to it compared to my dad where he outright called it a joke except the graphics were awesome for him. I give it a rating of 9/10.

watched "Inglorious Basterds". I wasn't expecting the movie to be 80% subtitles, but nonetheless i still enjoyed it - 8/10.

Perfect kind of movie for that day, lol. I'm not too much into horror movies anymore unless it's dealing with Michael, Freddy or Chucky.

I was wondering that too, since you said it was "good", 4.5 is a fail out of 10, meaning it sucks. "Good" would be like 6-7 in my books.

what is good in one persons books could be poor in anothers books...it was not an awesome movie I didn't absolutely was excited to watch it again...I would definitely watch Avatar again thats why I gave it a 9/10...it was good but it was not excellent or awesome...or even awesome possum it was not any of that...but what one man(woman) likes does not mean another man(woman) will like the same...each to their own I guess.

Oh ya totally to each their own. I haven't seen it, nor do I want to. But I was just judging by your "good"comment, it didn't match saying it was 4.5, does that make sense?

so then what should the movie be then...should it be -4.5 or should it be a zero...? What does your rating scale look like...what is constitutes to be good from the scale of 0-10?

    I would say 7/10 is considered good. A 4.5/10 is a movie i wish i never saw.

0 - beyond what were they thinking, terrible
1 - what were they thinking, terrible
    2 - beyond bad
    3 - extremely bad
    4 - very bad
    5 - bad
    6 - decent
    7 - good
    8 - very good
    9 - excellent
10 - beyond excellent (though i never give 10's, as i don't believe any movie is perfect, just like i never give 0's, as i give movies atleast a 1 for effort).

It's like a mark on a test in school, 4.5 would be a fail right.. so it would be very very bad. Whereas 80 and above would be pretty stellar.
