Critters had me up early to watch the sunrise. Sheesh, if they want to be romantic, can't they bring me a diamond ring?

Taking the brats for a car ride later to my folks' place, so they can guard the place while I go to my BBQ. Debating whether I should bake a batch of doggy biscuits before I go or take a nap with the brats. Right now, the nap side is winning.

I may do more garage "sailing" later if time permits,
My pockets are lighter & my twonies are gone,
& I didn't find an Elvis to decorate my lawn,
But I went with the moment cause this wasn't planned,

Thats just beautiful Loocie... I can't remember the actual date I quite (over a year ago), but i can't imagine ever going back and a super congrats to you Wolfie!!!!

was at the last Q thursday night concert series which featured Helix with special guest Crash Kelly.
both bands were awesome. Shaun Kelly, lead guitar & who the band is named after use to be in Helix for a while before leaving amicably & forming Crash Kelly. that boy can play that axe. he had it singing. they came on around 9:25pm & played till about 10pm, at which point they closed the curtains to get ready for Helix. when they openned again around 10:30pm, the bad was sitting on stools & Al Joyns was doing a meet & greet. of all the bands, that i saw during this series, Helix actually seemed receptive to the meet & greet. they went all thru the bands history & what they had been up to to present history. before they started, they had a film clip of all the bands that they have played with. Helix didn't stop rocking till after midnight & then came back on to do an encore. afterwards there was an opportunity to meet them & have them sign CDs, books etc.
the songs they played were No Rest for the Wicked, Heavy Metal Love, Dream On, She's Too Tough, That Day is Gonna Come. the 3rd song they did The Kids are all Shakin' is one of my favs as well as the song they dedicated to their "lost " guitar player, Paul Hackman, who died in an auto accident in 1992 ( i believe), Deep Cuts the Knife. Paul had travelled down to the states to work with another song writer & when he returned this was the song. when they were putting the album, Long Way To Heaven together in 1984, there was a choice between that song & a song from Aldo Nova. they picked Deep Cuts the Knife & that song went to #7 on the charts. Q use to play it then, as well as a few other songs. they also did a cover of Foot in Cold Water's Make Me Do Anything You Want. they ended the evening(before the encore) with

that got the whole place just a screaming. it was a great night.

I'm heading down to Harborfront to the Veggie Festival, there are quite a few festivals going on this weekend including the South Side Shuffle (which I guess I won't be making it to) Anyways, it's a nice day so enjoy all!
